14 <br />VACATION RESOLUTION No. 2770 - 1954 <br />j' This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll :showing the award <br />of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of LOTS, UTILITY <br />!;EASEMENTS AND STREETS, ALL IN A PART OF EDISON PARK ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />-_ ''INDIANA, under Vacation Resolution No. 2770. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written <br />• remonstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the <br />several lots and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown <br />on said roll. The Board, therefore, decided to take final action on said assessment <br />:Troll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification <br />Nand the proceedings closed, and lots, utility easements and streets, all in.a part of <br />Edison Park Addition vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the <br />;.various property owners so benefited and all proceedings had with reference to said <br />vacation are hereby sustained. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2772 - 1954 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by <br />';the Board of Public Works for the vacation of ALLEY SOUTH OF PLEASANT STREET FROM 25TH <br />;`;STREET EAST TO THE WEST LINE OF THE ALLEY EAST OF 25TH STREET under Vacation Resolution <br />'No. 2772. The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no <br />;;remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been filed with the <br />;!Clerk, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the said resolution be finally'i <br />:!adopted and the said alley be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to pre- <br />pare an assessment roll covering the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to <br />:the surrounding properties. <br />R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards <br />-of damages and the assessments of benefits in the matter of the vacation of alley south <br />of Pleasant Street, from 25th Street east to the west line of the alley east of 25th <br />;Street, under Vacation Resolution No. 2772. <br />j. <br />In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in <br />,,the City Hall at 11:00 A. M. CST on the 26th day of April 1954, for the purpose of <br />''hearing and receiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said <br />vacation, and the Board further orders that notice of said hearing, together with the <br />!'amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the property owners by <br />,publishing same on the 2nd day of April, on the 9th day of April, and on the 16th day <br />'of April, 1954, in the South Bend Tribune and The Tri-County News. <br />The request of Lions Club to conduct their annual White Cam Sale, in the interests <br />of the blind, on Saturday, April 24th was granted by.the Board. <br />The Board next considered the advantageous price quoted for a lot of 10M sets of <br />:Purchase Order Forms, and authorized the release of Purchase Order BW3951. <br />The Chairman of the Board then announced the time as 11:00 o+clock and proceeded with, <br />'the opening of bids, in accordance with legal advertisement: <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEAL 2H <br />1 - Bell & Howell Microfilm Recorder, Style BH 190-E...........$2970*OO <br />1 - Bell & Howell Microfilm Reader, Style BH 289-B ............ $760.00 <br />The above bid from the Burroughs Corporation was accompanied by non -collusion <br />:affidavit and certified check in the amount of $373.00. <br />Remington Rand, Inc.
