<br />For the improvement of ELLSWORTH PLACE under Improvement Resolution No. 2763 - 19531'
<br />adopted September 12, 1953 from the centerline of lots 27 and 70 in Jefferson Heights
<br />'Addition to a point 26 feet south of,the south line of Colfax Avenue by constructing a
<br />!local sewer.
<br />After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised on the i
<br />premises and the Clerk of the Board having shown proofs of publication of the notices to ,
<br />property owners and the same having been found sufficient, the -Board decides that the ;
<br />benef its to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the
<br />!estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, therefore
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend,
<br />'Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2763, 19532 duly passed by this Board on September
<br />12th, for the above improvements, be and the same is hereby in all things confirmed, and
<br />;the improvement is hereby ordered to be made. j

<br />,approved by this Board on the 12th day of September 1953, for the improvement of j •
<br />ELLSWORTH PLACE from the center line of lots 27 and 70 in Jefferson Heights Addition
<br />Ito a point 26 feet south of the south line of Colfax Avenue by constructing a local
<br />sewer be and the same are hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the office of the !'
<br />;;Department of Public Works and Safety.
<br />November 23, 1953, at the hour of 11:00 o'clock A. M. Central Standard Time, is
<br />Ihereby fixed as the time and the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety in the
<br />City Hall of this City, as the place, when and where the Board of Public Works and Safety]
<br />;will open and consider bids for the above named improvements, provided all bids for the 11
<br />,construction of said work shall be filed in the office of the Clerk of this Board before
<br />!11:00 A. M. CST on said day. Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a
<br />!certified check, payable to the Treasurer of this City, in the sum of two and one-half (21,
<br />tr cent.of the amount of his bid, or a bid bond for two and one-half (22) per cent of
<br />e amount of his bid, to insure the execution of this contract, if said work is awarded 'I
<br />'to him.

<br />The Clerk of this Board is hereby=:ordered, to give notice by two weekly publications,
<br />f the time and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and considered. for th®'
<br />onstruetion of said work. Said Clerk shall state in said notices, that each bidder shall
<br />nclose with his bid a certified check or bid bond for above named amount, to insure the
<br />xecution of this contract.

<br />The Board next examined and approved the Storm Sewer Plans, revised as of October
<br />1953, submitted by Engineer W. S. Moore for McKinley Terrace Addition, Section "B",
<br />t the following locations:
<br />Manchester Drive and Oxford Lane
<br />Whitehall Drive from Oxford Lane 500 ft. North •
<br />Whitehall Drive and Corby Street

<br />TREET DEPARTMENT:
<br />H. M. Tomlinson, Street Commissioner, being present, brought to the Board1s `.
<br />(attention, the condition of Riverside Drive beyond the city limits and the Street
<br />!Commissioner's plans for maintaining this section of highway in a satisfactory condition it
<br />until such time as it can be hard -to ed. It was 's pp pointed out that it is the City ;I
<br />responsibility to maintain this boulevard from the city limits to Darden Road, under
<br />'an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners, and the Street Commissioner was acco
<br />ingly authorized and directed to proceed with the required graveling operations. I!
