Hurwich <br />Board of Public Works <br />and Safety <br />Il4IPROVEME,,NT RESOLUTION NO.2757 CONFIRMED <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ADOPTED <br />Confirmation of Resolution No. 2757 for the improvement of FORD STREET - SCENIC <br />'!DRIVE - LOMBARDY DRIVE, adopted June 8, 1953 by constructing a Class "B", Type 1, <br />'.tCement Concrete Pavement. <br />Owners of all property liable for assessment for said improvement, having filed <br />"a written petition requested said improvement and designating type of pavement and also <br />having filed a written waiver of their right of hearing on resolution and any or all <br />irregularities in the proceedings, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South. Bend, <br />"Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2757, 1953, duly passed by this Board on <br />June 8, 1953, for the above improvement, be and the same is hereby in all things con - <br />,firmed and the improvement is hereby ordered to be made. <br />Plans and specifications for the above improvements were adopted and ordered <br />,;placed on file. June 22, 1953, at the hour of 10:00 A. M. CST, is hereby fixed as <br />the time and the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety in the City Hall of <br />this City, as the place, when and where the Board of Public Works and Safety will open <br />!' and consider bids for the above named improvements, provided all bids for the con- <br />struction of said work shall be filed in the office of the Clerk of this Board before <br />,'10:00 A. M. CST of said day. Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a <br />certified check, payable to the Treasurer of this City, in the sure_ of two and one-half <br />(2) per cent of the amount of his bid, or a bid bond for two and one-half' (22) per <br />cent of the amount of his bid, to insure the execution of this contract, if said work is <br />awarded to him. <br />The Clerk of this Board is hereby ordered to give notice by two (2) weekly pub- <br />lications of the time and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and con- <br />sidered for the construction of said work. Said Clerk shall state in notices, that <br />each bidder shall enclose with his bid a certified check or bid bond for above named <br />amount, to insure the execution of contract. <br />The Board next considered the setting up of procedure for the operation of the <br />City Plan Commission, under Director Robert L. Huff, who has now assumed his duties. <br />!' The first action taken was the transfer, with the approval of the Mayor, of Mr. Dorsey <br />Sulzberger, from the Building Department to the office of Director Huff. It was further <br />agreed that the entire planning staff will be under Mr. Huffts supervision and will <br />work directly for the City Plan Commission. <br />The handling of pay vouchers for the planning staff was set up and approved by <br />the Board as follows: <br />The following pay vouchers will be prepared by Mr. Huff and submitted <br />to the City Controller: <br />a. Mr. Huffts salary of $6200.00 as Planning Consultant <br />b. Mr. Sulzberger's salary <br />c. That part of Mr. Moomawts salary which is paid to him <br />as secretary of the Planning Commission and the Board of <br />Zoning Appeals. <br />d. The practice of having these pay vouchers approved by the <br />Chairman of the Planning Commission will be discontinued. <br />e. Any travel or incidental expenses incurred by PIIr. Huff and <br />!' Mr. Sulzberger. <br />
