in writing, from the owners of the last two lots on the east side of North 34th Street adjacent to Washington Street. STREET DEPARTMENT: H. M. Tomlinson, Street Commissioner, reported to the Board the hazardous condition of the sidewalk in front of 502 South Sheridan Avenue, which is par- ticularly dangerous at night due to the poor lighting in this area. The Board directed that the lighting situation be referred to the Superintendent of the Electrical Depart- ment for his investigation and report. Mr. Tomlinson next reported a condition in the 2000 Block South Olive Street, where�l • a plugged main sewer, apparently caused by broken tile, is creating a serious emergency. The matter was referred by the Board.to the City Engineer for immediate attention. The "backing up" of water from the sewer was also reported to have occurred recentl in the 100 Block of East Pokagon and the 1100 Block of Blaine Avenue. RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 2702 - 1952 -Be It Resolved, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the:Primary or Preliminary Assessment Roll adopted by the Board on the 28th day of July, 1952, for improvement of ILLINOIS STREET from the north line of Western!
