Robertson and six others for the construction of a sanitary <br />sewer on FELLOWS STREET from the center line of -Donmoyer Avenue to a point 1000 feet <br />south AND <br />Petition of Anderson W. Floyd and seven others for the Pavement on CHALFANT STREET I <br />from the east line, of Arthur Street to the east line of Walsh Street AND <br />Petition of Sam DePree and sixteen others for the Pavement on ALLEY BETWEEN IRONWOOD;` <br />DRIVE AND 23rd STREET from the north line of Mishawaka Avenue to the south line of Wall <br />Street, (see insert). <br />i <br />A petition was received, bearing the date of August 12, 1952, and carrying the sig- <br />natures of twenty-five residents of the neighborhood, mainly in the 1100 Block of North <br />Adams Street, for the improvement of an ALLEY BETWEEN ADAMS AND COLLEGE STREETS, midway <br />between, and parallel with, Vassar Avenue and Humboldt Street. Petition was examined ands <br />referred to the City Engineer for investigation and report. <br />The Board next proceeded with the final awarding of contract for paving of ELWOOD <br />AVENUE, between O'Brien and Elmer Streets; and RANDOLPH STREET, between Sampson Street <br />and Ironwood Drive, both contracts being awarded to the Rieth-Riley Construction Company, <br />on .the basis of having made the lowest and best bid. <br />A Resolution passed by the Common Council, approving the contract entered into be- <br />tween the Board of Public Works and the Reed -Construction Company, of Mishawaka, for the <br />resurface paving of MIAMI STREET from the north line of Indiana Avenue to the south line <br />of Ewing Avenue-, for the contract price of S38,205.00, was read and ordered placed on <br />file. <br />APPROVAL OF BONDS <br />Occupancy.Bond of GEO. JACOBS, d/b/a HAMILTON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, of Mishawaka, <br />in the sum of $5,000.00, was examined and approved by the Board. <br />Excavation Bond of the B. & G. CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC., in the sum of $2,000.00, <br />was examined and approved by the Board. <br />Excavation Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, of ALEX R. NIEZGODSKI, d/b/a <br />NIEZGODSKI BROS. PLUMBING CO.; and of GEO. E. SIBLEY, d/b/a GEO. E. SIBLEY CO., were <br />examined and approved by the Board. <br />Contractors Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, of GILLSTRAP CONSTRUCTION CO., <br />and of CONSTRUCTIONEERS, INC., were examined and approved by the Board. <br />There being no further business to come before this meeting of the Board, meeting <br />was thereupon adjourned at 11:45 A.M. <br />;,Attest: <br />Clerk <br />I <br />
