<br />In the matter of alley improvement authorized by Improvement Resolution No. 2726,
<br />a petition bearing eleven signatures of resident property owners opposed to this improve
<br />ment was received and examined, -and the Board, accordingly, passed the following resolu-
<br />tion; which rescinds the improvement of the ALLEY BETWEEN MICHIGAN STREET & MAIN STREET
<br />from the north line of Ewing Avenue to the south line of Donald Street:
<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION RESCINDED NO. 2726 - 1952
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2726, 1952, duly adopted by this Board on
<br />July 7, 1952, and first confirmed on August 4, 1952, be and the same is in all things
<br />rescinded and the improvement is hereby ordered not made. I

<br />The Board next examined the Engineer's reports submitted by Wilbur H. Gartner &
<br />Associates at the Board's request, and their tabulation of bids opened at the previous
<br />meeting for the ELWOOD AVENUE and RANDOLPH STREET improvements covered by Resolution
<br />Nos. 2720 and 2718, respectively, and accepting their recommendation, awarded the •
<br />contracts for these improvements, tentatively, to the Rieth-Riley Construction Company,
<br />as the lowest bidder.

<br />For the improvement of WASHINGTON AVENUE from -the east line of Ironwood Drive to
<br />the east curb line of Tuxedo Drive by constructing a Class "C" Pavement, under Improve-
<br />ment Resolution No. 2722, 1952, adopted July 7, 1952, and first confirmed on August 4,
<br />1952.
<br />No written remonstrance or remonstrances against said improvement bearing the •
<br />signatures of fifty-one (51) per cent or more of the resident property owners on said
<br />street to be improved, having been filed within the ten (10) day period following the
<br />date and time of the hearing on said improvement, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2722, 1952, duly adopted by this Board on
<br />July 7, 1952, and first confirmed on August 4, 1952, be and the same is in all things
<br />finally confirmed and the improvement is hereby ordered made.
