301 AWARDING CONTRACTS Nos. 2665'2666'and 2667 - 1951 South Bend, Indiana July 91 1951 i After due investigation of all bids and being duly advised on the premises, the Boar of Public Works and Safety decides that the bids of the Reed Construction Company for the construction of the improvements known as KENMORE STREET PAVEMENT improvement according • �to Improvement Resolution No. 2665, 1951, is the lowest and best bid and that the contrac 'ito do said work be awarded. to the Reed Construction Company. Item 9 3/4" long water services @ 80.00 per each Item 10 3/4" short water services @ 60000 per each it Therefor Be It Resolved, By the Board of Public Works and Sfffety of the City of Soul Bend, . Indiana that the bids of the Reed Construction Company for the construction of the improvements described in Improvement Resolutions Nos. 2665, 2666 and 2667, 1951, passed by this Board on May 7 1951, and confirmed by this Board on June 4. 1951s be and the same are hereby adopted and that the City of South Bend, Indiana, thru its Mayor and Boan of Public Works and Safety enter into written contracts with said Reed Construction Comp ny for the faithful executor of such work, according to said bids, the detailed plans anc ;specifications and the terms of said Resolutions, provided that before entering upon the performance of said contracts, said Reed Construction Company shall give bond, in the amount equal to one hundred (100) per cent of the contract price for such work, with a Surety Company legally authorized to transact business in the State of Indiana, as Suretz to the approval of this Board, to secure the performance of such contracts, and shall j give a Maintenance Bond in the amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of,.the contract price for such wrrk, with a Surety Company legally' authorized to transact business in the Stat( of Indiana, as Surety, to the approval of this Board to warrant and quarantee the work, i material and condition of the pavements for a period of three (3) years, and to hold the City of South Bend, Indiana, harmless from payment of any debt or damage by reason of any act of such Contractor, and to secure the payment of all claims for labor and materiF used in such improvements. i R.
