This was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation <br />and report. <br />USSES: A petition was received containing forty-six signatures asking for bus service <br />o the Edison Addition. This was referred to the Northern Indiana Transit for investiga- <br />ion and report. <br />A petition was received containing ninety-three signatures asking for bus service <br />o the,ftoded Estates Addition. This was referred to the Northern Indiana Transit for in <br />estigation and report. <br />GINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bond in the amount of $1,000 for Joseph Muia-was ap <br />oved and ordered filed. <br />Mr. Pat Brennan appeared before the Board petitioning for permission to construct a <br />1,000 gallon fuel oil tank beneath the public sidewalk at 407-409 South Michigan Street. <br />This was referred to the City Engineer for investigation and report. <br />Mr. Robert Reed appeared before the Board to ask permission to construct benches in <br />;the parkway at bus stops. Permission was dOnied as the Board does not feel use of the <br />:streets can be granted to private enterprise. <br />The Board approved sewer plans for 25th Street; in the alley west of Twenty-fifth <br />',Street; and in the alley east of 25th Street in the Blackwood Apartments, an addition to <br />1the City of South Bend. <br />The Board also approved sewer plans for East Chippewa Avenue; Ridgedale Road; and, <br />1Amhurst Avenue for the Crown Development Company in Miami Hills Addition. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION 2651 <br />This being the date set for hearing on Vacation Resolution 2651, the hearing is now <br />ontinued until October 30, 1950. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION 2655 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by th <br />oard of Public Works for the vacation of the first alley south of. Calvert Street from <br />illiams Street to the west line of alley east of Williams Street under vacation resoluti <br />o. 2655. The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no re <br />onstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk <br />t was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that<the said resolution be finally adopte <br />ndethe said alley be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an asse <br />ment roll covering the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrouhdin <br />roperties. <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for the construction of a pavement on al <br />ey,between Chapin and Kendall Streets, the following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />• <br />0 <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />
