r. <br />lJ <br />0 <br />This bid being the only one received, it was accepted by the Board. <br />The Board authorized the installation of overdrive in the above car for an addi- ?. <br />tional sum of $92.01. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bonds were approved and ordered filed for C. D. <br />Ruffner and Nathan C. Bewley, R <br />Al Flowers and Son were granted permission to erect a permanent type canopy extena- <br />ing over the sidewalk a distance of 18 inches at 119 112 East Jefferson Boulevard for th <br />Holloway Jewelry Company. <br />Permission was granted for the erection of a sign on the front of the building at <br />116 East Jefferson Boulevard which will extend approximately 9 inches over the sidewalk <br />in front of the building. At the first floor the front will not extend over the proper- <br />ty line. <br />A petition -to improve the alley between Michigan and Main Streets running north <br />and south between Stull and Broadway Streets was referred to the City Engineer. <br />A petition to vacate the first alley north of Rupel Street from Johnson Street, <br />to the first alley east of Johnson was referred to the City -Plan Commission. <br />Mr. Nering, representing the Fruehauf Trailer Company, appeared before the Board <br />!{ in response to a letter informing the company of complaints lodged against them. Mr. <br />INering informed the Board that the Fruehauf Trailer Company will immediately cease the <br />I actions resulting in the complaints and will cooperate in every way. <br />I'. <br />The Board accepted quitclaim:deeds from Darwin Franklin Rosebrook, Annita G. Rose;' <br />j� brook, Leonard Biegelski and Helen Bie.gelski for land accepted for public use. <br />DEDICATION <br />WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon is now : <br />presented to the Board, to be known as Canterbury Courts an addition to South Bend, Ind.; <br />and j! <br />This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and <br />Safety in Row # , Drawer # , and recorded in Book 182 Page C , in the Recorder's Of- <br />fice of St. Joseph County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to <br />the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved bys aid Board for and on be' <br />half of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />is <br />The Board approved plans for a sewer on Burbank Avenue, Windsor Place and Walton <br />Avenue for Garden Homes, Incorporated. <br />The -Board approved plans for grade, curb, walk and pavement for Amhurst Avenue; <br />Landcaster Drive; Woldhaven Drive; Dover Drive; Miami Road, Sheets #1 and #2; East Chip- <br />pewa Avenue, Sheets #1 and #2; and, Ridgedale Road in Miami Hills Addition for the Crown <br />Development Company. <br />The Board approved plans for the Addison Street pavement from Chippewa Avenue to <br />Klinger Street, <br />VACATION RESOLUTION # 2650 <br />j RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC ViO RKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That it is <br />desirable to vacate the following: <br />i <br />I A parcel of land located on the North side of West Garst Street, at the Northwest corner <br />of the intersection of West Garst and South Franklin Streets, beginning at the Northwest <br />intersection of said streets a distance due South 20.20 feet, thence due.West a distance <br />j of 99.50 feet, thence due South a distance of 12.00 feet, thence due Nest a distance of <br />20.00 feet, thence due North a distance of 32.20 feet, thence due East a distance of <br />119.50 feet to the point of beginning. <br />• The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: <br />I <br />i <br />i <br />No property affected. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 28th day of July and on the <br />I <br />4th day of August, 1950 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and leekly Mirror. <br />This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 14th day of August, 1950 at <br />10:00 a.m. (C.S.T.) will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in <br />or affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 24th day of July, 1950 <br />R.
