r. lJ 0 This bid being the only one received, it was accepted by the Board. The Board authorized the installation of overdrive in the above car for an addi- ?. tional sum of $92.01. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bonds were approved and ordered filed for C. D. Ruffner and Nathan C. Bewley, R Al Flowers and Son were granted permission to erect a permanent type canopy extena- ing over the sidewalk a distance of 18 inches at 119 112 East Jefferson Boulevard for th Holloway Jewelry Company. Permission was granted for the erection of a sign on the front of the building at 116 East Jefferson Boulevard which will extend approximately 9 inches over the sidewalk in front of the building. At the first floor the front will not extend over the proper- ty line. A petition -to improve the alley between Michigan and Main Streets running north and south between Stull and Broadway Streets was referred to the City Engineer. A petition to vacate the first alley north of Rupel Street from Johnson Street, to the first alley east of Johnson was referred to the City -Plan Commission. Mr. Nering, representing the Fruehauf Trailer Company, appeared before the Board !{ in response to a letter informing the company of complaints lodged against them. Mr. INering informed the Board that the Fruehauf Trailer Company will immediately cease the I actions resulting in the complaints and will cooperate in every way. I'. The Board accepted quitclaim:deeds from Darwin Franklin Rosebrook, Annita G. Rose;' j� brook, Leonard Biegelski and Helen Bie.gelski for land accepted for public use. DEDICATION WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon is now : presented to the Board, to be known as Canterbury Courts an addition to South Bend, Ind.; and j! This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety in Row # , Drawer # , and recorded in Book 182 Page C , in the Recorder's Of- fice of St. Joseph County. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved bys aid Board for and on be' half of the City of South Bend, Indiana. is The Board approved plans for a sewer on Burbank Avenue, Windsor Place and Walton Avenue for Garden Homes, Incorporated. The -Board approved plans for grade, curb, walk and pavement for Amhurst Avenue; Landcaster Drive; Woldhaven Drive; Dover Drive; Miami Road, Sheets #1 and #2; East Chip- pewa Avenue, Sheets #1 and #2; and, Ridgedale Road in Miami Hills Addition for the Crown Development Company. The Board approved plans for the Addison Street pavement from Chippewa Avenue to Klinger Street, VACATION RESOLUTION # 2650 j RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC ViO RKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That it is desirable to vacate the following: i I A parcel of land located on the North side of West Garst Street, at the Northwest corner of the intersection of West Garst and South Franklin Streets, beginning at the Northwest intersection of said streets a distance due South 20.20 feet, thence due.West a distance j of 99.50 feet, thence due South a distance of 12.00 feet, thence due Nest a distance of 20.00 feet, thence due North a distance of 32.20 feet, thence due East a distance of 119.50 feet to the point of beginning. • The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: I i i No property affected.
