'152 VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2651 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. That it is desirable to vacate the following: The. alley North of Pokagon Street from Michigan Street to the East line of the alley hies of Michigan Street. and The alley West of Michigan Street from Pokagon Street to Angela Boulevard. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots Numbered 23 to 30 inclusive, Leeper's Revised 2nd Addition. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 28th day of July and on'the 4th day of August, 1950 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and Weekly Mirror. This'Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 14th day of August, 1950 at 10:00 a.m. (C.S.T.) will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or af- fected by these proceedings. Bruggner BOARD OF PUBLIC VORKS & SAFETY This being the date set for the receiving of bids for SOUTH WILLIAMS STREET PAVEMENT' WIDENING, the following bids were received and publicly read: Reed Construction Company Mishawaka, Indiana Rieth-Riley Construction Co., P. 0. Box #775 South Bend, Indiana A Non -Collusion Affidavit with a Pvoposal Bond in the sum of $434.32 accompanied the bid.' TOTAL ITEM EXTENSION $ 17,369.00 A Non -Collusion Affidavit with a Bid Bond in the sum of 5 0 of the Bid accompanied the bid. TOTAL ITEM EXTENSION $ 18,932.80 The bid of the Reed Construction Company was accepted subject to the approval of the Common Council. The Jr. Chamber of Commerce was granted permission to park a Heritage truck in front:,, of the Court House on the Main Street side on August 2, 1950, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 r p•m• The 4-H Club officials were granted permission to place advertising signs on lamp posts in the downtown area to advertise the 4-H Fair, August 2, 3, 4 and 5, inasmuch as this is an educational program. Hearing on the Condemnation Resolution No. 2640 having been continued until this date, the hearing was had. Mr. Carl Vtieidler, Attorney, appeared for the petitioners and Joseph A. Roper, Attorney, appeared for the remonstrantors. A written remonstrance was filed with the Clerk. The Clerk of the Board showed -proofs of publication of notices an same were found sufficient. After hearing all persons interested and being- fully advis� ed on the premises, the Board overruled the petition and allowed the condemnation. The Engineering Department is now directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the asses- sment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties to be so bene- fited and so damaged by the above condemnation. DEDICATION WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon is now pre- sented to the Board, to be known as Blackwood Apartments, an addition to South Bend,. Indiana, and This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety in Row # , Drawer # , and recorded in Book.. , Page , in the Recorder7s Of- fice of St. Joseph County. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana. • -0 • • L�
