'152 <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2651 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. That it is <br />desirable to vacate the following: <br />The. alley North of Pokagon Street from Michigan Street to the East line of the alley hies <br />of Michigan Street. <br />and <br />The alley West of Michigan Street from Pokagon Street to Angela Boulevard. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: <br />Lots Numbered 23 to 30 inclusive, Leeper's Revised 2nd Addition. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 28th day of July and on'the 4th <br />day of August, 1950 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and Weekly Mirror. <br />This'Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 14th day of August, 1950 at 10:00 <br />a.m. (C.S.T.) will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or af- <br />fected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 24th day of July, 1950. <br />R. Bruggner <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC VORKS & SAFETY <br />This being the date set for the receiving of bids for SOUTH WILLIAMS STREET PAVEMENT' <br />WIDENING, the following bids were received and publicly read: <br />Reed Construction Company <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />Rieth-Riley Construction Co., <br />P. 0. Box #775 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />A Non -Collusion Affidavit with <br />a Pvoposal Bond in the sum of <br />$434.32 accompanied the bid.' <br />TOTAL ITEM EXTENSION $ 17,369.00 <br />A Non -Collusion Affidavit with <br />a Bid Bond in the sum of 5 0 of <br />the Bid accompanied the bid. <br />TOTAL ITEM EXTENSION $ 18,932.80 <br />The bid of the Reed Construction Company was accepted subject to the approval of the <br />Common Council. <br />The Jr. Chamber of Commerce was granted permission to park a Heritage truck in front:,, <br />of the Court House on the Main Street side on August 2, 1950, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 <br />r <br />p•m• <br />The 4-H Club officials were granted permission to place advertising signs on lamp <br />posts in the downtown area to advertise the 4-H Fair, August 2, 3, 4 and 5, inasmuch as <br />this is an educational program. <br />Hearing on the Condemnation Resolution No. 2640 having been continued until this <br />date, the hearing was had. Mr. Carl Vtieidler, Attorney, appeared for the petitioners and <br />Joseph A. Roper, Attorney, appeared for the remonstrantors. A written remonstrance was <br />filed with the Clerk. The Clerk of the Board showed -proofs of publication of notices an <br />same were found sufficient. After hearing all persons interested and being- fully advis� <br />ed on the premises, the Board overruled the petition and allowed the condemnation. The <br />Engineering Department is now directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the asses- <br />sment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties to be so bene- <br />fited and so damaged by the above condemnation. <br />DEDICATION <br />WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon is now pre- <br />sented to the Board, to be known as Blackwood Apartments, an addition to South Bend,. <br />Indiana, and <br />This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and <br />Safety in Row # , Drawer # , and recorded in Book.. , Page , in the Recorder7s Of- <br />fice of St. Joseph County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to <br />the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on <br />behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />• <br />-0 <br />• <br />• <br />L� <br />
