<br />To Whom It May Concern:

<br />Notice is hereby given, that the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, on the 31st day of July, 1950 at the hour of 10:00 AM=CST at the of-
<br />fice of the Board, in the City Hall, in said City, will open and consider sealed bids, and
<br />designate by preliminary order the kind of pavements to be used, for the following describ-
<br />ed Street Improvements, as provided for in Improvement Resolutions Numbers, 2626, 2627,
<br />2634, 2637 and 2638 - 1950 duly passed by said Board on June 12, 1950 and confirmed on
<br />July 10, 1950, to wit:
<br />MCKINLEY AVENUE from the east line of Eddy Street to the west line of Walsh Street by con;
<br />structing a Class "C" Pavement, AND
<br />POPLAR STREET from the west line of Cleveland Avenue to the east line of the alley west
<br />of Cleveland Avenue by constructing a Class "C" Pavement, AND
<br />is
<br />ALLEY BETWEEN CALVERT STREET AND DONALD STREET from the east line of Scott Street -to the
<br />west line of Taylor Street; ALLEY BETWEEN SCOTT AND TAYLOR STREETS from the north line of!
<br />Donald Street to the south line of the alley south of Calvert Street by constructing a
<br />Class "C" Pavement, AND
<br />THIRTY-THIRD STREET from the south line of Mishawaka Avenue to the south line of Pleasant
<br />Street by constructing a Class "C" Pavement, AND
<br />KENDALL STREET from the north line of Donald Street to the south line of Calvert Street
<br />by constructing a Class "C" Pavement.
<br />Provided, all bids for the construction of said work, shall be filed in the office
<br />of the Clerk of the Board of Public Works and Safety of said City before 10:00 o'clock
<br />AM -CST of said day.
<br />Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a Certified Check payable to.
<br />the Treasurer of said City, in the sum of two and one-half (22) per cent of the amount
<br />of his bid or a bid bond for two and one-half (22) per cent of the amount of his bid, to
<br />insure the execution of Contract, if said work is awarded to him.

<br />Detailed plans and specifications for said improvements are on file in the office
<br />of the Board of Public Works and Safety.
<br />The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

<br />Whereas, the Board of Public Works, did on the 26th day of June, 1950 adopt a Pre-
<br />liminary Order designating a::Class "C" - Type 1 - Cement Concrete Pavement as the kind of
<br />Pavement for the improvement of VASSAR AVENUE from the east line of Wilber Street to the
<br />west line of Lawndale Avenue in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2629, 1950a' 'I
<br />AND
<br />CHICAGO AVENUE from the south line of Western Avenue to the north line of Ford Street in
<br />accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2624, 1950, AND
<br />GLADSTONE AVENUE from the south line of Ford Street to the north line of Sample Street
<br />accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2623, 1950, passed by this Board on May 8,
<br />1950 and confirmed by this Board on June 12, 1950.
<br />Be It Resolved, that the Preliminary order is hereby, in all things confirmed and
<br />said streets ordered paved with a Class "C" Type 1, Cement Concrete Pavement.
