<br />Therefor Be It '-'esolved, By the Board of Public Wz)rks and Safety of the City of South
<br />Bond, Indiana that the bi ds of the Reed Construction Company for the construction of the
<br />improvements described in Improve_men.t Resolutions Numbers 2601 and 26c4, 1950 passed by
<br />this Board on February 20, 1950 and confirmed by this Board on P`arcr_ 27, 1950 be and the
<br />same is hereby adopted and that the City of South Bend, Indiana thru its Mayor and Board
<br />of Public Works and Safety enter into a written contract with said Reed Construction Com-
<br />pany for the faithful executor of such work, according to said bid, the detailed plans
<br />and specifications and the terns ofsa.id Resolution, provided that 'cefore entering upon
<br />the performance of said contract said Reed Construction Company shall give bond, in the
<br />amount equal to one hundred (1003 per cent of the contract price for such work, Lri th a.
<br />Surety Company legally authorized to transact busincss in the State of Indiana, as Surety
<br />to the approval of this Board, to secure the performance of such contract, and shall give
<br />a. Maintenance Bond in the amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price for
<br />such work, with a Surct;,r Company legally aut1lo-ized to transact business in the State of
<br />Indiana, as Surety, to the approval of this Board to warrant and quarantee the work, ma-
<br />terial and condition of the paver.ient for a period of three (3) years, and to hold the City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana. harmless from pad ,e��t of any debt or damage by reason of a.nv act
<br />of such Contractor, and to secure the payrent of all clairr_s for labor and material used
