DeGrove. <br />i <br />A petition to improve Chicago Street from Western Avenue to Ford Street by the con- <br />struction of a. pavement was referred to the City Engineer. <br />• Mr. William Bradway representing the South Bend .Awning Company appeared before the <br />Board to a,sk permission to install a permanent type a,wming. The Board granted permission <br />for said installation at 117 West LaSalle Street,, providing the distance from the side- <br />walk level to the bottom of the valance is not less than eight feet and the awning is not <br />protruding from the building a. total. distance of more than five feet which will make it <br />extend over the sid3vra.lk proper not more than two feet. <br />Mr. Nathan Levy and Mr. Van Skyhawk appeared before the Board to discuss the instal- <br />lation of posts containing electric -eye apparatus in front of the building known as the <br />,South Bend Clinic.
