<br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT:__ Mr_._Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matter pertain-
<br />ing to his department were Discussed.
<br />Mrs. Walter Clark 414 E. Howard Street, presented a petition asking that Howard
<br />Street between Niles .venue and Notre Dame Avenue be made a through street and to erect
<br />stop signs at all intersecting streets in these blocks. This was referred to Mr. Miller
<br />for investigation and report.
<br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT:
<br />Contractor's Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 were approved and ordered filed for
<br />Gino Vannoni & Sons Construction Co, Mishawaka, Indiana, Ralph E. Keller, Jr., Henry J.
<br />Fisette and Floyd Barrier.
<br />Mr. Val Olshewski was granted a temporary permit for the erection of a canopy on
<br />the Tribune Building on Lafayette Blvd. dur$ng the period of the construction of the
<br />addition to the Tribune Building.

<br />Notice is hereby given, that the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Sou
<br />Bend, Indiana., on the 5th day of July 1949, at the hour of 10:00 A.M.C.S.T. at the offic
<br />of the Board, in the City Hall, in said City, will open and consider sealed bids, and
<br />designate by preliminary order the kind of pavement to be used, for the following des-
<br />cribed Street Improvement, as provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 2591, 1949, duly
<br />passed by said Board on April 25, 1949 and May 23, 1949, respectively, to -wit: Thirty
<br />Second Street from north line of Pleasant Street to south line of Vine Street by drain-
<br />ing, grading and paving the.roadway with a Class "C" pavement, types one (1) to five (5)
<br />inclusive.
<br />Provided, all bids for the construction of said work, shall be filed in the office o
<br />the Clerk of the Board of Public Works and Safety of said City before 10:00 A.M,C.S.T. of
<br />said day.
<br />Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a Certified Check payable to
<br />the Treasurer of said City, in the sum of two and one-half (2j) per cent of the amount of
<br />his bid or a bid bond for two and one-half (22) per cent of the amount of his bid, to
<br />insure the execution of Contract, if said work is awarded to him.
<br />Detailed plans and specifications for said improvement are on file in the office of
<br />the, -Department of Engineering.
<br />The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to 'reject any and all bids.
