535 <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />June 9, 1949 <br />The Board of Public Works & Safety, <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />• In the matter of the Bids for the improvement of Hamden Court from north line <br />of LaSalle Avenue to south line of alley north of LaSalle Avenue in accordance wtih <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2595, 1949, Gassed by this Board on May 23_, 1949. We hereby <br />report that we have examined the several Bids submitted to the Board on June 8, 1949 <br />and find that the Reed Construction Co., Mishawaka, Indiana has the lowest and best bid <br />for Class "C" Type 1-Portland Cement Concrete Pavement that the Rieth-Riley Construction <br />Compa.ny,,South Bend, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class t'C" Type 4-Compacted <br />Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface Pavement. , <br />We recommend that the kind of Pavement placed on the above Street be Class "C"' <br />Type 1-Portland Cement Concrete. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />CHARLES W. M. 01. S. T and publicly <br />opened and considered all bids for the improvement of Hamden Court from north line of <br />La Salle Avenue to the South line of Alley north of La Salle Avenue in accordance with <br />Improvement Resolution No. 2595, 1949, passed by this Board on May �3, 1949. <br />Therefore, Be It Resolved that the roadway of said street be improved by pavin <br />with Class "C" Type 1-Portland Cement Concrete. <br />R.
