<br />NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:
<br />No. 2589, 1949
<br />TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERNI
<br />Notice is hereby given, that the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, on the 8th day of June, 1949 at the hour of 10:00 A.M.C.S.T*
<br />at the office of the Board,`in the City Hall in laid City will open and consider
<br />sealed bids, and designate by preliminary order the kind of pavement to be used, for
<br />the following described Street Improvement, as provided for in Improvement Irsolution
<br />No. 2589, 19497 duly passed by said Board on April 251 1949 and May 23, 1949 respect-
<br />ively to -wit: Howard Street from the East line of Notre Dame Avenue to the West line
<br />of Eddy Street by draining, grading and paving the roadway with a Class "C" Pavement
<br />Types One (1) to Five (5) inclusive.
<br />Provided, all bids for the construction of said work, ' shall be filed in the office
<br />of the Clerk of the Board of Public Works and Safety of said City before 10:00 A.M.C.S.I.
<br />of said day.
<br />Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a certified check payable to the
<br />Treasurer of said City, in the sum of two and one-half (2 )) per cent of the amount of
<br />his bid or a'bid bond for two and one-half (2J) per cent of the amount of his bid, to
<br />insure the execution of Contract, if said work is awarded to him.
<br />Detailed plans and specifications for said improvement are on file in the office of
<br />the Department of Engineering.
<br />The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION
<br />No. 2590, 1949
<br />South Bend, Indiana
<br />May 23, 1949
<br />For the improvement of Twenty -Fourth Street under Improvement Resolution No. 2590,
<br />1949, adopted April 25, 1949, from the North Line of Mishawaka Avenue, to the South
<br />property line of Lots "C" & "D" of Hastings, Woodward & Gray's Addition,by draining,
<br />grading and paving the roadway with a Class "C" Pavement, Types One (1) to Five (5)
<br />inclusive.
<br />After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised on the
<br />premises, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed
<br />for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the
<br />City Civil Engineer. Therefore
<br />Be 'It Resolved, By the Board of Public Works and Safety oB the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2590 1949, duly passed by this Board on April
<br />25, 1949 for the above improvement, be and the same is hereby in all things confirmed
<br />and the improvement is hereby ordered to be made.
