<br />office of the Board of Public Works and Safety in the City Hall of this City as the place,
<br />when and where the Board of Public Works and Safety will open and consider bids for the
<br />above named improvement, providing all bids for the construction of said works shall be
<br />filed in the office of the Clerk of this Board before 10:00 A.M.C.S,T. of said day.
<br />Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid, a certified check, payable to the
<br />Treasurer of this City in the sum of two and one-half (2J) per cent of the amount of his
<br />• bid to insure the execution of this contract, if said work is awarded to him.
<br />The Clerk of this;Board is'°hereby ordered to give notice by two weekly publications'
<br />of the ti*e and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and considered for
<br />the construction of said work. Said Clerk shall state in said notices, that each bidder,
<br />shall enclose with his bid a certified check or bid bo#d for above named amount, to insure

<br />Noticeis hereby given, that the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, on the 8th day of June, 191+9, at the hour of 10:00 A.M.C.S.T.
<br />at the office of the Board, in the City Hall, in Said City will open and consider
<br />sealed bids, and designate by preliminary order the kind of pavement to be used, for
<br />the following described Street Improvement, as provided for in Improvement Resolution
<br />No. 2593, 1949, duly passed by said Board on April 25, 1949 and May 23, 191+97 to -wit:
<br />California Street from the East line of Brookfield Street to the West Line of College
<br />Street by draining grading and paving the roadway with a Class "C" Pavement, Types
<br />One (1) to Five (5j inclusive.
<br />Provided, all bids for the construction of said work, shall be filed in the office
<br />•
<br />of the Clerk of the Board of Public Works and Safety of said City before 10:00 A.M.C.S.T
<br />of said day.
<br />Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid, a certified check payable to
<br />the Treasurer of said City, in the sum of two and one-half (22) per cent of the amount
<br />of his bid or a bid bond for two and one-half (22) per cent of the amount of his bid, to
<br />insure the execution of Contract, if said work is awarded to him.
<br />Detailed plans and specifications for said improvement are on file in the office of
<br />the Department of Engineering.

<br />• After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised on the
<br />premises, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for
<br />said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City
<br />Civil Engineer. Therefore
