NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

<br />TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
<br />Notice is hereby given, tha.'t the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of j
<br />South Bend, Indiana, on the 8th day of June, 1949, at the hour of 10:00 A.M.C.S.T. at
<br />the office of the Board, in the'City Hall, in said City, will dpen and consider sealed
<br />bids, and designate by preliminary order the kind of pavement to be used, for the follows •
<br />described Street Improvement'Resolution No. 2592, 1949, duly passed by said Board on jl
<br />April 25, 1949 and May 23, 1949 to -wit: Poland Street from the West Line of Olive Stree
<br />to the East Line of Kaley Street by draining grading and pa.ving'the roadway with a {�
<br />Class "C" Pavement, Types One (1) to Five (53 inclusive.
<br />Provided, all bids for the construction of said works, shall be filed in the Office
<br />of the Clerk of the Board of Public Works and Safety of said City before 10:00 A.M.C.S,
<br />of said day.
<br />Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a certified check payable to Ij
<br />the Treasurer of said City, in the sum of two and one-half per cent (22) of the amount
<br />of his bid or a bid bond for two and one-half (22) per cent of the amount of his bid,
<br />to insure the execution of Contract, if said work is awarded to him.
<br />Detailed plans and specifications for said improvement are on file in the office of
<br />the Department of Engineering.
<br />The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

<br />For the improvement of California Street under Improvement Resolution No. 2593,
<br />1949 adopted April 25, 1949, from the East Line of Brookfield Street to the West Line
<br />College Street by draining, grading and paving the roadway with a Class "C" Pavement,
<br />Types One (1) to Five (5) inclusive.
<br />After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised on the
<br />premises, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for
<br />said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City
<br />Civil Engineer. Therefore
<br />Be It Resolved, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, �� •
<br />Indiana, that Improvement Resolution No. 2593, 1949, dult passed by this Board on April
<br />25, 1949 for the above improvement, be and the same is hereby in all things confirmed an., the
<br />improvement is hereby ordered to be made. 11
