<br />A petition was received with 186 signatures asking that Franklin Street in the
<br />1600 and 1700 blocks which as been used as a loading dock for, the U. S. Gypsum Company
<br />and the Crane Company be denied to these eompanie_s for this purpose. This was referre
<br />to the Traffic Engineer and the City Engineer for investigation and report,
<br />ENGINEERING DE PARTP. ENT: Petitions to pave South St. Joseph Street from Bowmand Street
<br />to Donald Street and South St. Joseph Street from Haney Avenue to Indiana Avenue were
<br />received and referred to the City Engineer,
<br />A petition to vacate the first alley 17est of Ironwood.Road running South from
<br />Ewing Avenue to the alley South of Ewing Avenue was referred to the City Plan Com-
<br />mission for investigation and report.
<br />Contractor's bonds in the amount of �1,000.00 each were approved and ordered
<br />filed for Elmer.E. Baringer, Casimer Jerzakowski, Lloyd Donavon and James F. Keller.
<br />Excavation bonds were approved and ordered filed for George A. Aslin and Fred
<br />Spromberg.
<br />A letter was received from H. F. Glaser, Jr., asking permission to close the all
<br />at the rear of 315 South 14ichigan Street for from 30 to 60 days for the construction
<br />of a brick and concrete elevator shaft. This request was approved by the Board,
<br />The Board approved a set -.of plans showing the proposed underground conduit con-
<br />struction in ffest ,Vayne Street between Scott and I:iain streets, in South Main Street
<br />between Wayne and Sample Streets and in West Sample Street between Main and. Tiichigan
<br />Streets,efor the Indiana Bell Telephone Company.
<br />The Board approved a set of plans for the installation of underground conduits
<br />and manhole and transformer vaults on South Main Street for the Indiana and Michigan
<br />Electric Company.
<br />VACATION RESOLUTION 1170. 2556
<br />This being the date set, hearing washeld on the assessment roll showing the
<br />award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of.the vacation of the
<br />alley South of Ford Street from Carlisle Street to the Last line of the North and
<br />South Alley and from the 7dest line of the North and South alley West to Phillipa Stree
<br />under Vacation Resolution No. 2556,
<br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstratorsappeared and no written
<br />remonstrances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of
<br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the seve
<br />lots and parcles of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts slhavirn on the
<br />said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment
<br />moll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modifi-
<br />cation and the proceedings closed, and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount
<br />of benefits assessments from the various property owners so benefitted and all
<br />proceedings had with reference to said alley vacation are hereby sustained.
