REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 12, 2017 281 <br />AWARD BID — DEMOLITION OF HOWARD PARK RECREATION CENTER — PROJECT <br />NO. 117-058 (REDA TIM <br />Mr. Corbitt Kerr, Community Investment, advised the Board that on August 22, 2017, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Kerr <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder <br />G.E. Marshall, Inc., 1351 Joliet Road, Valparaiso, IN 46385, in the amount of $154,535. <br />Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be <br />awarded and the contract approved as outlined above. Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, which <br />carried. <br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONTRACT — MARRIOTT HOTEL SITE DEVELOPMENT <br />AT HALL OF FAME PHASE 3 — PROJECT NO 117-064 (RWDA TIFF <br />Mr. Richard Estes, Community Investment, advised the Board that on August 22, 2017, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Estes <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder <br />Walsh & Kelly, Inc., 24358 SR 23, South Bend, IN 46614, in the amount of $228,191.56 for Base <br />Bid Part A and B, and $438,711.32 for Base Bid Part C. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded and the contract approved as outlined <br />above. Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD QUOTATION — BOWEN STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO <br />116-082A (SSDA TIF) <br />Mr. Roger Nawrot, Engineering, advised the Board that on August 22, 2017, quotations were <br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr. <br />Nawrot recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible <br />bidder, Walsh & Kelly, Inc., 24358 SR 23, South Bend, IN, 46614, in the amount, not to exceed, <br />of $49,750. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the <br />quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD QUOTATION — FOUR WINDS FIELD CONCOURSE PAINTING (COVELESKI <br />NON -REVERTING FUND) <br />Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks and Arts, advised the Board that on August 22, 2017, <br />quotations were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those <br />quotations, Mr. Sherman recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive <br />and responsible bidder, Christman Custom Painting, Inc., 59650 Dogwood Rd., Mishawaka, IN <br />46544, in the amount of $59,500. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, <br />which carried. <br />AWARD QUOTATION — MORRIS THEATRICAL LIGHTING CONTROLS UPGRADE <br />(MORRIS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND) <br />Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks and Arts, advised the Board that on August 22, 2017, <br />quotations were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those <br />quotations, Mr. Sherman recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive <br />and responsible bidder, TPC Technologies, Inc., 185 Bell Road, Niles, MI 49120, in the amount <br />of $72,257.45. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and <br />the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Fritzberg seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD QUOTATION — SEWER CLEANING NOZZLES (SEWER MAINTENANCE <br />MATERIALS) <br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Serivices, advised the Board that on August 22, 2017, quotations were <br />received and opened for the above referenced equipment. After reviewing those quotations, Mr. <br />Hudak recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible <br />bidder, USB-Sewer Equipment Corporation, 1700 Enterprise Way, Suite 116, Marietta, GA 30067, <br />in unit prices not to exceed $44,619.90. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above.
