Safe Community for Everyone: <br /> 1. Traffic and Lighting completed 6,371 locates for ongoing projects. <br /> 2. 40 special events supported - created 304 signs and 19 banners for special events <br /> to ensure safety of public <br /> 3. 5.2 billion gallons of safe drinking water (and fire protection)for a safer community. <br /> 4. Completed extensive flushing program to maintain drinking water quality <br /> B. Robust,Well-Planned Infrastructure <br /> 1. The Streets&Sewers Division paved over 20 lane miles with its internal crews in <br /> 2016. <br /> a. Additional lane miles were paved as part of other projects such as Smart <br /> Streets in the downtown and Western Avenue bringing the total lane miles <br /> paved in the city to 36.5 (includes City crews as well as contracted work) <br /> 2. City crews graded over 1500 blocks of alleys <br /> 3. Stripped 288 miles of road, also painted 92 arrows, 383 stop bars, and 104 cross <br /> wa I ks. <br /> 4. 3676 signs repaired or replaced <br /> 5. City Signals and Lighting: Inspected 155 city intersections, 203 monitors certified and <br /> changed out <br /> 6. County Signals and Lighting: 54 intersection inspections, 16 loop intersection tests, <br /> aerial inspections of 27 cameras, and 27 monitor certified and changed out <br /> 7. State Signals and Lighting: 314 inspections, tested 798 loops, one aerial inspection, <br /> 131 monitors certified and changed out <br /> 8. Completed 49 Curb and Sidewalk properties resulting in 2226 ft of curb and 3770 ft <br /> of sidewalk. <br /> 9. Sewer Maintenance cleaned a total of 134.17 miles of sewer lines. <br /> 10.Sewer Construction performed 119 manhole repairs, 144 inlet repairs, and 40 main <br /> line digs. <br /> 11.Smart Streets Construction <br /> a. Completed conversion of Main and Michigan into two-way Streets. Final <br /> project completion is June 1, 2017. <br /> b. Completed streetscape work on Western Avenue between Bendix and Dundee- <br /> new curbs, sidewalks, pavement, landscaping and streetlights to support <br /> business development along the corridor. <br /> 12. New or Replaced Sidewalk throughout the city: 73,921 LF <br /> 13. New or Replaced Curb: 58,069 LF <br /> 14.ADA Curb Ramps Installed: 769 Each <br /> 15. New Decorative Streetlights added throughout the city: 293 <br /> 16.Wastewater continued upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment plant as part of the <br /> CSO Long Term Control Plan <br /> a. 2016 projects included Primary Clarifier Rehabilitation & Equipment upgrades <br /> and Digester 2 upgrade and Digester Gas cleaning project <br /> b.
