SPECIAL POLICE CGM;SSION ( VAZ ) A Special Police Commission for Winston A. Vaz was approved and ordered placed on file. Mr. Vaz will be employed by the Police Dept. No bond required. SPECIAL POLICE: CONTINUATION CERTIFICATE ( VAN KIRK ) A Continuation Certificate for Special Police bond for Maria Van Kirk; special police officer employed by Gilbert's was approved and ordered placed on file. POLICE DEPART_ T REPORT A Report from the Police Department for the month of April, 1965 was accepted and ordered placed on file. FIRE DEPARTMENT: APPLICATION An application for the Fire Department from Dean Russell Jester was accepted and ordered placed on file. TRAFFIC ENGINEER: INSTALLATIONS Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, the following installations and changes in traffic signs were approved: Install Stop signs on Sample Street at Northside Boulevard. Leave the present Stop signs on Northside. Attach 4-Way Stop plates to all Stop signs. Replace the 3 Trio Hour time limit signs with 1 hour signs on north side of Fox from Miami to the first alley west. Remove the One Hour signs and posts from 1906 S. Franklin. Remove the Three hour signs and posts from the west side of Franklin across from 1906 S. Franklin Street. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: TRAFFIC DIRECTOR RECMENDATION ( REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS ) Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, and the approval of the City Engineer, the Board approved the removal of five parking meters from the west side of the 300 block Lincoln Way East between Wayne and the first alley to the north. Studies indicate a low percentage of occupancy at this location, according to Mr. Hazinski's report, and since a service station is to be constructed there and curb cuts are to be made, it is recommended that the remaining curb space between Wayne and the first alley west become a No Parking zone. This action was approved by the Board. Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, and the approval of the City Engineer, the Board approved the removal of six parking meters on the south side of the 100 block East Wayne Street from Michigan to the ist intersection alley. This was necessitated because of the installation of curb cuts on the south side of the 100 block of East Wayne Street.
