53 <br />L <br />1 <br />After hearing Mrs. King, the Board ruled that Mrs. King show proof <br />by May 24, 1965 that she plans to repair the dwelling at the E. Sample <br />Street address. <br />With reference to property located at 133 2. Ohio S-ureet against v iiich <br />there is a Welfare Department lien pending, the Board granted a 30 day <br />extension to either repair or sell the property. This request was <br />made by Mr. D. Goheen. The Board ordered the property boarded up. <br />At the request of the owners, J and V. Taylor, the Board granted a 30 <br />day extension to repair the structure, located at 213 E. Paris St. <br />Mr. Liszewski reported that he had notified Mr. George Blair, owner of <br />property located at 201 --201z E. Keasey Street, by Certified letter <br />to be present at a hearing on this date to show cause why property had <br />not been brought up to standard. <br />Mr. Blair did not appear at the hearing, and the return receipt from <br />the Certified letter had not been received, nor had the letter been <br />returned unclaimed. <br />The hearing was continued for one week. <br />With reference to property located at 406-408 E. Wenger, owned by William <br />and Clara Hayes, Mr. Liszewski requested permission to advertise for <br />bids for demolition. Request granted. <br />OPENING BID: DEMOLITION <br />Mr. Liszewski submitted a sealed bid for demolition of property located <br />at 917 Carroll Street. <br />Following is the only bid received. <br />Thomas Palmer <br />55299 N. Sundown Road <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />Retain Salvage <br />Stack salvage <br />$475.00 <br />$500.00 <br />The bid was in proper-., order, accompanied by a non -collusion affidavit. <br />The Board awarded the bid to Thomas Palmer. <br />REQUEST: POLICE DEPARTNENT ( SPRING FESTIVAL ) <br />The Fraternal Order of Police was granted permission to hold the annual <br />Spring Festival on the following dates: May 18 through May 23 at the <br />Marycrest lot at 2000 Western Avenue. June 1 through June 6 at the lot <br />located at corner of Bendix Drive and Ardmore Trail and the last week, <br />June 29 through July 4 at the Broadmore Shopping Center. <br />REQUEST: POLICE SHOW <br />Permission was granted to the Fraternal Order of Police, St. Joseph Valley <br />Lodge #36, South Bend Police Department, to present its 23rd Annual Police <br />Show on July 8, 9, 10 and 11, 1965 at Al Bar Ranch, 55345 Fir Road, <br />Mishawaka. <br />In order to further publicize this event permission was granted to <br />hold a parade on Saturday, July 10, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. <br />The parade will form in the 300 and 400 blocks W. South Street, and will <br />p;roeeed east to Lafayette, north to Colfax, east to Main Street, south <br />
