Bussert, it was moved <br />seconded and carried that the bid of Ault Camera Shop for two video re- <br />corders for a total of $5,527.76 be accepted and contract awarded, subject <br />to the availability of funds. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />e-4 J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the <br />C following matters were taken up. <br />�. 1713 W. Washington Street. Mrs. Juanita Crowley, 1415 E. Corydon Street, <br />Chicago, Illinois, appeared before the Board and stated she is the representa- <br />tive of the estate of Alma Thomas, owner of this property; that the property <br />will have to be demolished, and asked additional time in which to determine <br />whether she would have the structure demolished or permit the City to do so. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued <br />one week. <br />934 E. Sorin Street. Marion Eskridge, 134 N. Illinois Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, appeared before the Board as requested. She says the house has to <br />be demolished; that she is the administrator for the estate of Rosa Donahue, <br />and that she is the only heir. She wants the City to demolish the property. <br />It was moved, seconded and carried that the Sub -Standards Director be <br />authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structures at 934 E. Sorir <br />Street. <br />123 N. Jackson Street. Karl Dubai] appeared before the Board as requested. He <br />stated the property was sold on a land contract; that it is in bad shape, and <br />he will see what can be done about it. It was moved, seconded and carried <br />to continue the matter two weeks to give the owner an opportunity to make dis- <br />position of the property on condition that the property be kept closed during <br />this time. <br />111 N. Jackson Street. Jeffrey and Levoda Lark appeared before the Board as <br />requested. Mrs. Lark stated they had hoped to sell this property which is in <br />an industrial area but have been unable to do so and that they are not able to <br />fix it up, and that they are willing for the City to demolish it. Mr. Adamson <br />stated t e property is open and being vandalized. Mrs. Lark stated that if the <br />property is to be demolished, they are willing for the City to take it down. <br />The property being located in the Model Cities area, the motion was made, <br />seconded and carried to continue the matter one week to permit further in- <br />vestigation in this regard. <br />119 N. Jackson Street. Neither E. Joe Harris nor Bernice Harris appeared be- <br />fore the Board as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously <br />carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for the de- <br />molition of the structure at 119 N Jackson Street, subject to Sub -Standards <br />Department receiving receipt for certified letter addressed to the Harrises on <br />January 5, 1970, or the Sub -Standards Department being able to contact the <br />owner in person. <br />1310-1312 W. Ford Street. Mr. Adamson reported he had heard nothing from Lue <br />Williams, land contract buyer of this property; that Mr. Martin, representing <br />the Menonite Board of Missions, owner of the property, had phoned in reference <br />to 1312 W. Ford Street to say that this structure is being renovated. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter pertaining to 1312 W. Ford <br />Street was continued indefinitely and the Sub -Standards Director was directed <br />to keep the property under surveillance. <br />
