January 19, 1970. <br />The further motion was made, seconded and carried to permit the Sub -Standards <br />Director to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 1310 W. Ford Street, <br />subject to the receipt of a letter of authorization from the Menonite Board <br />of Missions. <br />1215 Bissell Street. Mr. Adamson tendered a letter from Willie Mae Stewart, <br />owner of the property, authorizing demolition of the property. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek <br />bids for demolition of the structure at 1215 Bissell Street. <br />730-732 South Bend Avenue. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this <br />matter was continued one week at the request of David Weisman, attorney for <br />the owner, who was unable to appear before the Board this date. <br />5212 S. Walnut Street. Mr. Adamson reported his Department inspected this <br />building at 9; 0 A.M. this date and found it open. It was moved, seconded and <br />carried that the matter be continued one week and that.the owner be notified <br />that if something is not done within the week, the City will seek bids for <br />demolition of the property. <br />Request for sub -standard property owners to appear before Board 2/2/70 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of the <br />Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear before the Board on <br />February 2, 1970, to show cause, if any they have, why the following properties <br />should not be demolished; <br />Portage Realty Co. <br />American National Bank <br />Basil and Velma Ziglear <br />Sam and Esther Caparell <br />- 524 E. Broad St. <br />- 712 E. Madison St. <br />- 830 S. Marietta St. <br />- 2625 W. Linden Ave. <br />And the Clerk was directed to so notify said owners by certified mail. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />properties. Non collusion affidavits, upon examination, were found to be <br />proper for the following bidders on all bids submitted by them: A & J <br />Demolition Company, B & J Demolition Company, Bryant Excavating Company and <br />O'Neal Trucking Company. Non collusion affidavits on all bids submitted by the <br />Midwest Demolition Company were found to be improper. Bids were as follows: <br />145 E. Elder Street <br />Harvey R. Bryant Excavating Co. $470.00 <br />A & J Demolition Co. $974.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. $495.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $684.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $679.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract for demolition of the structures <br />at 145 E. Elder Street was awarded to Bryant Excavating Company on its low bid <br />of $470.00. <br />412 E. Ohio Street <br />Midwest Demolition Co. $384.00 <br />B & J Demolition $285.00 <br />A & J Demolition Co. $333.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $320.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $333.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract for demolition of the structure <br />at 412 E. Ohio Street was awarded to B & J Demolition Company on its low bid <br />of $285.00. <br />1820 S. Taylor Street. Mrs. Zakrowski, owner of this property, appeared before <br />the Board and asked that she be allowed time in which to remove her personal <br />belongins from.the house.
