1356 1/5/70 1017 S. Carroll Street. Neither James nor Dora Tracas appeared as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was granted permission to seek bids for demolition of the structures at 1017 S. Carroll Street. Reauest for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before the Board January 19, 1970. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request of the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear before the Board on January 19, 1970, to show cause, if any they have, why the following listed properties should not be demolished: Alma Thomas Estate 1713.W. Washington Street Marion Eskridge - 934 E. Sorin Street Karl Dubai] - 123 N. Jackson Street E. Joe and Bernice Harris - 119 N. Jackson Street Jeffrey and Levoda Lark - 111 N. Jackson Street RECOMMENDATION FOR MODEL NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN-"CHARL"ES'F. LENNON. DIRECTOR Charles F. Lennon, Director of the Model Neighborhood Program, presented to the Board the report and recommendation of the Model Neighborhood Program Committee, 1045 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the report and recommendation was referred to the Engineering Department and the Area Plan Commission simul- taneously for study and recommendation to the Board. HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 33o6, 1969 - DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT This being the date set, hearing was held on Vacation Resolution No. 3306, 1969, being for the vacation of certain portions of Jefferson Street in LaSalle Park, more particularly described as follows: The north 20 feet of and the south 20 feet of Jefferson Street between the west line of Bendix Street and the east line of the north -south alley between Bendix Street and Liberty Street; also, between the west line of Chicago Street and the east line of the north -south alley between Chicago Street and Sheridan Avenue. All of Jefferson Street between the west line of the north - south alley between Bendix Street and Liberty Street and the east line of Liberty Street; also, between the west line of Dundee Street and the east line of the north -south alley between Kentucky Street and Dundee Street; also, between the west li-ne of the north -south alley between Dundee Street and -Kentucky Street and the east line of Kentucky Street; also, between the west line of Lake Street and the east line of the north -south alley between Lake -Street and Falcon Street; and also, between the west line of the north -south alley between Lake Street and Falcon Street and the east line of Falcon Street. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on December 26, 1969 and January 2, 1970, which were read and found to be sufficient. No remonstrators appearing and no written remonstrances having been received, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the adoption of said resolution for the vacation of such property was confirmed and approved, and the City Engineer was directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to surrounding property owners. REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TWO-WAY RADIOS Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request of the City Engineer for permission to advertise for two way radios. And the Clerk was directed to publish notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on January 9 and January 16, 1970, for bids to be received on January 26, 1970.
