1356 <br />1/5/70 <br />1017 S. Carroll Street. Neither James nor Dora Tracas appeared as requested. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director <br />was granted permission to seek bids for demolition of the structures at 1017 <br />S. Carroll Street. <br />Reauest for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before the Board <br />January 19, 1970. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear <br />before the Board on January 19, 1970, to show cause, if any they have, why <br />the following listed properties should not be demolished: <br />Alma Thomas Estate 1713.W. Washington Street <br />Marion Eskridge - 934 E. Sorin Street <br />Karl Dubai] - 123 N. Jackson Street <br />E. Joe and Bernice Harris - 119 N. Jackson Street <br />Jeffrey and Levoda Lark - 111 N. Jackson Street <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR MODEL NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN-"CHARL"ES'F. LENNON. DIRECTOR <br />Charles F. Lennon, Director of the Model Neighborhood Program, presented to <br />the Board the report and recommendation of the Model Neighborhood Program <br />Committee, 1045 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, the report and recommendation was <br />referred to the Engineering Department and the Area Plan Commission simul- <br />taneously for study and recommendation to the Board. <br />HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 33o6, 1969 - DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on Vacation Resolution No. 3306, <br />1969, being for the vacation of certain portions of Jefferson Street in LaSalle <br />Park, more particularly described as follows: <br />The north 20 feet of and the south 20 feet of Jefferson <br />Street between the west line of Bendix Street and the east <br />line of the north -south alley between Bendix Street and <br />Liberty Street; also, between the west line of Chicago Street <br />and the east line of the north -south alley between Chicago <br />Street and Sheridan Avenue. <br />All of Jefferson Street between the west line of the north - <br />south alley between Bendix Street and Liberty Street and the <br />east line of Liberty Street; also, between the west line of <br />Dundee Street and the east line of the north -south alley <br />between Kentucky Street and Dundee Street; also, between <br />the west li-ne of the north -south alley between Dundee Street <br />and -Kentucky Street and the east line of Kentucky Street; <br />also, between the west line of Lake Street and the east line <br />of the north -south alley between Lake -Street and Falcon Street; <br />and also, between the west line of the north -south alley <br />between Lake Street and Falcon Street and the east line of <br />Falcon Street. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on December 26, 1969 and January 2, <br />1970, which were read and found to be sufficient. No remonstrators appearing and <br />no written remonstrances having been received, upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the adoption of said resolution for the vacation of such <br />property was confirmed and approved, and the City Engineer was directed to <br />prepare an assessment roll covering the assessment of benefits and the award <br />of damages to surrounding property owners. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TWO-WAY RADIOS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the City Engineer for permission to advertise for two way radios. <br />And the Clerk was directed to publish notice in the South Bend Tribune and <br />the Tri County News on January 9 and January 16, 1970, for bids to be received <br />on January 26, 1970. <br />
