1/5/70 REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR CAPACITORS FOR MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of the City Engineer for permission to advertise for bids for the furnishing of all material and labor required to provide a suitable capacitor installation for power factor correction for the Municipal Services Facility, was approved. And the Cl6rk was directed to publish notice on January 9 and January 16, 1970, in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News for bids to be taken on January 19, 1970. CONTRACT AWARDED FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES - MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY All bids received on December 15, 1969, for janitorial services for 1970 at Municipal Services Facility having been reviewed, the Board, on December 301* 1969, approved the award of contract to the ABC Janitor Service for the period 1/l/70 through 3/31/70, with option for the full year of 1970 to be exercised by February 28, 1970, and is hereby confirmed and made a part of these minutes. O 1970 PARKING METER DEPARTMENT BUDGET APPROVED Upon motion made, seconded and unanimouslu carried, the 1970 budget for the Parking Meter Department as submitted by the City Controller in the U sum of $138,896.00 was approved by the Board, subject to a change in the account number and the description now called 80 A. REQUEST OF BUILDING COMMISSIONER TO ATTEND CONFERENCE - APPROVED Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request of Forrest ,R. West, Building Commissioner, to attend the mid- year.annual code changes hearing of the Builders Building Officials Confer- ence of America at Lexington, Kentucky January 8 to January 11, 1970. REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATRE INC. TO RENEW LEASE FOR FIRE STATION # Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of South Bend Civic Theatre, Inc., to renew its lease for the Fire Station #6 for another year was approved by the Board and referred to the Legal Department for preparation of lease. COMPLAINT OF ILLEGAL PARKING - S. LAWRENCE WEBB The complaint of illegal parking at 1101 S. Michigan Street by S. Lawrence Webb, 421 N. College Street, South Bend, Indiana, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for investigation. CHANGE IN PARKING RATES - A-1 PARKING COMPANY Notice of a change in parking rates from the A-1 Parking Company, 125 W. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, effective February 1, 1970, was reviewed and ordered filed. Such changes being as follows: F;1tst half hour - from 25� to 35C Second half hour - from 20� to 15� Each additional hour - from 20C: to 15� TEMPORARY ENCROACHMENT - RIGHT OF WAY ON NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation of Traffic Engineering for a temporary encroachment of right of way on Northside Boulevard, just west of Notre Dame Avenue, where a locker plant and plumbing supply warehouse are located, upon the condition that a hold harmless bond is filed with the Building Commissioner. (Sollitt Construction Company, owner of the building, having agreed to construct a new loading dock.
