There being no more bids, the motion was made, seconded and carried to refer the bids to the City Engineer and the Fire.Chief for study and recommendation to the Board. OPEN BIDS FOR VIDEO RECORDER SYSTEM FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT This being the date set for receiving bids for the following: One 1/2 inch tape video recorder system, complete with video recorder, portable camera, monitor and accessories, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and.the Tri County News on November 7 and November 14, 1969, which were read and found to be sufficient. The following bids were received: Meade Electric Company of Indiana, Inc., 1825 Summer Street, Hammond, Indiana. Non collusion affidavit and certified check in the amount of $640.00 were found to be sufficient. APPLICATIONS - FIRE DEPARTMENT The following applications for appointment to the Fire Department were filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further processing: Frank John Farkas, Jr. Thomas Richard Janowiak Timothy Irvin Paczkowski RETIREMENT -FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT - EMIL DE DAPPER Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board accepted and approved the retirement from the South Bend Fire Department of Emil DeDapper, effective December 8, 1969, Fireman DeDapper having been appointed March 1, 1949, and having served more than 20 years.
