312 <br />11/10/69 <br />225 S. Chapin Street. Mr. Adamson reported there had been a bad fire here <br />but that the structure is closed. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously <br />carried, the matter was continued 60 days so long as the structure is closed. <br />1815 W. Ford Street. Mr. Adamson says -kI -gC)ff IXXO* this property is in the <br />process of being cleaned up. Upon motion made seconded and unanimously carried, <br />the matter was continued two weeks for the owner to complete the cleaning up. <br />412 E. Ohio Street. Mr. Adamson reported the occupants of this house have not <br />yet been relocated. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />matter was continued two weeks. <br />4035 S. Michigan. Owner Blenke and his attorney, George Strat+gos, and realtor <br />Les Daniels appeared before the Board. Mr. Stratigos spoke for Mr. Blenke and <br />stated that;:Mr. Blenke was making every effort to get the building rebuilt but <br />is having difficultyr:getting the money to do i.t. Mr. Stratigos offered a letter <br />indicating the value of the property and Mr. Daniels testified as to its value. <br />It was moved, seconded and carried that the matter be continued 90 days on con- <br />dition that the structure be kept secured. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />Bids for demolition of the following properties were opened. Non collusion <br />affidavits were examined and found to be proper. Bids were as follows: <br />620 South Bend Avenue. <br />O'Neal -Trucking Company $519.00 <br />A & J Demolition Company 935.00 <br />A. Midwest Demolition Co. 734.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. 541.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the contract -for demolition <br />of the structure at 620 South Bend Avenue be awarded to O'Neal Trucking,Company <br />on its low bid of $519.00, contingent upon funds being available. <br />116-118 Chapel Lane. <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $611.00 <br />A. Midwest Demolition Company 534.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company 541.00 <br />A & J Demolition Co. 935.00 <br />It was moved the contract for demolition of the structure at 116-118 Chapel <br />Lane be awarded to A. Midwest Demolition Company on its low bid of $534.00, <br />contingent upon funds being available. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3263 (AMENDED) - <br />35TH STREET <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on -the assessment roll for the improve- <br />ment of 35th Street, from Jefferson .Boulevard to the railroad south of Jefferson, <br />by constructing a Class C pavement with curb repair. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on October 24 <br />and October 31, 1959, which were read and found to be proper. No remonstrators <br />having appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, the assessment roll adopted by the Board <br />on October 20, 1969, was in all things confirmed. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3268 (AMENDED) - <br />WALSH STREET <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll for the improve- <br />ment of Walsh Street, from Chalfant to Sorin Street, by constructing a Type C, <br />Class IV pavement. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News which were read and found to be proper: No <br />remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, <br />upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the assessment roll adopted <br />by the Board on October 20, 1969-, was in all things confirmed. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
