Mr. Adamson reported the demolition contractor, Jerry Davis, <br />expects to complete the demolition of this property within the next day or two. <br />1044 LaSalle. (neighborhood complaint) Updn motion made, seconded and unanimously <br />carried, the matter was continued one week for further investigation by the Sub - <br />Standards Department. <br />1221 Grace Street. Miss Lillian Gruszka, one of the owners of this property, <br />and Clarence Hoctel, in her behalf, appeared before the Boeed:to protest the all, <br />demolition of the accessory building at this address, stating that it is in <br />good condition, is used for storage and should not be demolished. The City <br />Attorney advised that if the building is not sub -standard it should not be de- <br />molished and Harvey Bryant, demolition contractor, who was awarded the°contract <br />for the demolition of these premises, being present, was directed not to remove <br />the accessory building. <br />DeW ition bids opened: <br />it1-1112 E. Ewing Street. This being the date set, bids were opened for <br />demolition of the premises at this address. Non collusion affidavit was found <br />to be proper. Bids were: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $606.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Company $735.00 <br />B & J Demolition Company $330.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Company $5-14.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of <br />the structure at 111-1112 E. Ewing Street was awarded to B & J Demolition Company <br />on its low bid of $330.00. And contract was executed by the Board. <br />133 N. Carlisle. Mr. Adamson stated this property is up for tax sale. The <br />Clerk is directed to send.aertified notice to Lee M. Weatherspoon and wife <br />notifying them to appear before the Board on October 13, 1969, to show cause <br />why the structure at 133 N. Carlisle Street should not be demolished. Copeland, effective October <br />16,"1969, officer Copeland having served more than 20 years. <br />REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF SICK LEAVE OVER 30 days - JAMES HAMMER <br />On motion made, seconded and carried, the request of the Police Department <br />for sick time over 30 days on behalf of officer James Hammer was referred <br />back to the Department for further information. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3247 - S. CARLISLE <br />STREET - (CONTINUED FROM 9/29/69) <br />Hearing on the assessment roll for the improvement of S. Carlisle Street, <br />from Prairie Avenue to Indiana Avenue, by constructing a Class C pavement <br />with curb repair, having been continued from September 29, 1969, was further <br />continued to October 13, 1969. <br />
