Demolition was present and reported the property had been sold and the <br />new owner was in the process of signing a contract for demolition with A & J Demo- <br />lition and the work should be completed in two or three weeks. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, this matter was continued for three weeks with <br />the understanding that within that time Mr. Davis will obtain a permit for the <br />demolition of this structure. <br />136 N. Notre Dame Ave. <br />This matter -is resolved as structure is being demolished under private contract. <br />Upon motion made seconded and unanimously carried this matter is closed. <br />1640 Portage <br />Jerry Davis of A. & J. Demolition was questioned as to his intentions with this <br />property as he has the contract for demolition and nothing has been done. After <br />listening to his explanation of vandalism to mechanical equipment and upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, a two week extension was granted for the <br />demolition of the greenhoum at 16 40 Portage. <br />810 W. Jefferson <br />In the matter of 810 W. Jefferson and the payment due for demolition by A & J <br />Demolition, it was explained that a garage standing on this property is divided <br />in half, half being on 810 W. Jefferson and the other half on the property abutting <br />to the rear. The owner of the abutting property is desirous of purchasing the <br />land. and the half of the garage at 810 W. Jefferson but needs time to complete <br />the transaction. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. Davis is to be paid <br />his contract price for the demolition less $150.00 to be held by the City for <br />the outcome of the garage transaction. <br />BIDS FOR DEMOLITION OPENED <br />1013 Duey <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for demolition of 1013 Duey, the bids <br />were opened and non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. The bids were: <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $185.00 <br />B & J Demolition Company 195.00 <br />Bryant Excavating 235.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract was awarded to <br />0fNea3: Trucking on its low bid of $185.00. Contract was executed by the Board. <br />.APPEARANCE - 322 S. Taylor - Viola and Eugene Berndt <br />Eugene and Viola Berndt, 1710 S. Swygart, owners and holder of the land contract <br />on 322 S. Taylor appeared voluntarily before the Board to determine what if any- <br />thing must bb-�done to this property to bring it up to code. They report that the <br />land contract purchaser has replaced windows and is rehabilitating the building. <br />Sub -Standard is to meet with the Berndt's and provide them with an up to date list <br />of necessary repairs. In the mean time, the owners are to keep the building secure <br />to avoid its being brought to the attention of the Board. <br />BIDS FOR TEMPORARY LOAN WARRANTS <br />This being the date set per advertising, bids were opened and non collusion affi- <br />davits found to be proper, for temporary loan warrants for the General Fund oper- <br />ating expenses until the fall tax installments are paid. Bids were as follows: <br />St. Joseph Bank and Trust <br />American National Bank <br />First Bank and Trust <br />6% per annum with $35.00 <br />premium <br />4.95% per annum <br />3.95% per annum <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the contract was awarded <br />to First Bank and Trust on their low bid of 3.95% per annum without premium. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
