September 22, 1969 <br />A regular meeting of the Bca rd of Public Works and Safety met at 9:30 A.M. <br />on September 22, 1969, with all members present. The minutes of the previous <br />meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, and the recommendation of Chief <br />Joseph Zurat, the Board approved the appointment of the following, effective <br />September 22, 1969: <br />Raymond B. Walorski 19857 Pasadena St., South Bend <br />Donald Ray Hansen, Jr. 418 E. Irvington, South Bend <br />Ronald T. Hans, 1625 N. O'Brien St., South Bend <br />KIRK BANACKA AND ROBERT ALBERT HEICK <br />Through inadvertance, the appointment of Kirk Alan Banacka and Robert Albert <br />Heick to the South Bend Fire Department, effective June 16, 1969, not having <br />been made of record in the minutes of June 16, 1969, said appointments, <br />0 having been approved by Fire Chief Joseph L. Zurat and members of the Bca rd, <br />are hereby recorded in these minutes. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Applications for appointment <br />Applications for appointment to the Police Department as follows: <br />Richard Zimmer <br />were filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further <br />processing. <br />Special Police Commissions <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried and upon the recommendation <br />of Police Chief Loren Bussert, the Board approved the appointment as Special <br />Police for the following: <br />John Willie Keyes Housing Authority of the City of So. Bend <br />Brian Henry Leuthold American District Telegraph <br />Robert Henry JOJO Detective Agency <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried and since the Special <br />Police Commission was cancelled May 6, 1969, release was given to the <br />National Insurance Agency Inc., 121 W. Wayne St., South Bend on the <br />following: <br />Marilyn Jean Allison, Bond #1902491 (Badge #673) Robertson's <br />Transfer of fluids <br />Upon motion made seconded and unanimously carried and upon the request of <br />Chief Loren M. Bussert, approval was given for the transfer of funds sub- <br />ject to the review by the Controller: <br />$600.00 from Account P-11 to account P-361, and <br />$2.000.00 from Account P-11 to Account P-252 <br />after review by the Controller, this matter will be referred to the Department <br />of Law for preparation of an ordinance. <br />Request - International Association of Chiefs of Police Convention <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of Chief <br />Loren M. Bussert to attend the International Association of Chiefs of Police <br />Convention in Miami, Florida, from September 27, 1969, and permission was <br />granted to drive Mechanical Unit #63, to return on October 3, 1969. <br />SUB -STANDARD BUILDING DEPART1viENT <br />1024 S, Main <br />The 30 days given to Mrs. Virginia Thomas to repair or remove structure <br />having elapsed, this property is again before the Board.
