LADD TO VACATE ALLEY BETWEEN <br />CHIMES BOULEVARD AND PYLE AVENUE <br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation for <br />the <br />vacation of the alley between Chimes Boulevard and Pyle Avenue, running <br />C r <br />southwest to northeast, between Rockne Drive and MacArthur Avenue, "providing <br />the signatures <br />of all abutting property owners are obtained prior to vacation." <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the petition was referred <br />to the City Engineer for the preparation of a Vacation Resolution. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - <br />PETITION OF O'BRIEN CORPORATION TO VACATE BROOKFIELD STREET <br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation for <br />the vacation of Brookfield Street, from Washington north to Orange; and <br />Colfax Avenue, from Brookfield Street east to the first north -south <br />alley east of Brookfield Street. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the petition was referred <br />to the City Engineer for the preparation of a vacation resolution. <br />CHANGE IN PROCEDURE - VACATION RESOLUTIONS <br />The motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried that Area Plan <br />Commission recommendations concerning vacation proceedings be referred directly <br />to the City Engineer instead of first being filed with the Board and then re- <br />ferred to the City Engineer for <br />the preparation bf.a vacation resolution. <br />PETITION FILED BY RESIDENTS OF HARTMAN DRIVE TO REQUIRE <br />RESIDENTS OF ROSEMARY LANE TO PAVE ROSEMARY LANE <br />A'petition, signed by 28 residents on Hartman Drive to demand that the <br />residents on the unimproved section of Rosemary Lane pave Rosemary Lane, was <br />filed with the Board and, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />was referred to the City Engineer for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO HOLD PARADE - RILEY HIGH SCHOOL SPONSORED BY MIAMI MERCHANTS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of Thomas Haas, 2701 Erskine Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, for <br />Riley'High School, under the sponsorship of the Miami Street Merchants, to <br />hold a parade on September 4, 1969, commencing at 7:00 P.M., proceeding <br />from Miami and Ewing north to Indiana Avenue, to Dale, to Broadway, to <br />Miami and Calvert. Certificate evidence insurance coverage for the event <br />was provided by Mr. Haas. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE HARTMAN DRIVE FOR BLOCK PARTY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of Mrs. Charles Freshour, Jr., 1921 Hartman Drive, South Bend, Indiana, <br />for the closing of Hartman Drive on September 6, 1969, during a block party <br />from 4:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M., to celebrate the newly paved street. <br />
