EA PLAN RECOMMENDAT ION - TITION OF GATES CHEVROLET CORPORATION TO VACATE FRANKLIN STREET, STERN TO WAVNF Area Plan Commission files with the Board its recommendation for the vacation of Franklin Street, from Western Avenue north to Wayne Street. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the petition was re- ferred to the City Engineer for the preparation of :Fa vacation resolution. AREA PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION - PETITION OF THOMAS L. LADD TO VACATE ALLEY BETWEEN CHIMES BOULEVARD AND PYLE AVENUE Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation for the vacation of the alley between Chimes Boulevard and Pyle Avenue, running C r southwest to northeast, between Rockne Drive and MacArthur Avenue, "providing the signatures of all abutting property owners are obtained prior to vacation." Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the petition was referred to the City Engineer for the preparation of a Vacation Resolution. AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - PETITION OF O'BRIEN CORPORATION TO VACATE BROOKFIELD STREET Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation for the vacation of Brookfield Street, from Washington north to Orange; and Colfax Avenue, from Brookfield Street east to the first north -south alley east of Brookfield Street. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the petition was referred to the City Engineer for the preparation of a vacation resolution. CHANGE IN PROCEDURE - VACATION RESOLUTIONS The motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried that Area Plan Commission recommendations concerning vacation proceedings be referred directly to the City Engineer instead of first being filed with the Board and then re- ferred to the City Engineer for the preparation bf.a vacation resolution. PETITION FILED BY RESIDENTS OF HARTMAN DRIVE TO REQUIRE RESIDENTS OF ROSEMARY LANE TO PAVE ROSEMARY LANE A'petition, signed by 28 residents on Hartman Drive to demand that the residents on the unimproved section of Rosemary Lane pave Rosemary Lane, was filed with the Board and, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, was referred to the City Engineer for review and recommendation. REQUEST TO HOLD PARADE - RILEY HIGH SCHOOL SPONSORED BY MIAMI MERCHANTS Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request of Thomas Haas, 2701 Erskine Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, for Riley'High School, under the sponsorship of the Miami Street Merchants, to hold a parade on September 4, 1969, commencing at 7:00 P.M., proceeding from Miami and Ewing north to Indiana Avenue, to Dale, to Broadway, to Miami and Calvert. Certificate evidence insurance coverage for the event was provided by Mr. Haas. REQUEST TO CLOSE HARTMAN DRIVE FOR BLOCK PARTY Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request of Mrs. Charles Freshour, Jr., 1921 Hartman Drive, South Bend, Indiana, for the closing of Hartman Drive on September 6, 1969, during a block party from 4:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M., to celebrate the newly paved street.
