8/4/69 <br />1131 Bowman. Mr. Taylor, City Engineer, stated attorney John Montgomery <br />had contacted him and stated they are still interested in rehabilitating, <br />this property. Mr. Taylor stated he had driven by the property this morning <br />and there is no debris in the yard and the porch has been removed. <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to rescind the action of the <br />Board on July 28, 1969, granting permission to advertise for bids for <br />demolition of the property. <br />The motion was made, seconded and carried to continue the matter indefinitely, <br />and the Sub -Standards Director was directed to keep the property under sur- <br />veillance. <br />134 N. Olive Street. Mr. Adamson reported this house is being used as a <br />warehouse; that the front porch still has not been repaired nor torn down; <br />that the rest of the building is closed up. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, permission was granted to advertise for bids -for <br />demolition of the porch only at 134 N. Olive Street. <br />2410-2412 W. Ford Street. Mr. Adamson reported this building is still open <br />and the premises have not been cleaned up since June 30, when the owner, <br />Gene Arnett, appeared before the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the matter was continued one week and the Sub -Standards <br />Director was requested to again contact the owner. <br />417 St. Vincent. Mr. Adamson reported the owner is trying to sell this <br />property and that it is presently boarded up. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, the Matter was continued until September 2, 1969. <br />1053 LaSalle Street. Complaint filed by several residents in this neighbor- <br />hood concerning the condition of this property was referred to the Sub -Standards <br />Department. <br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before Board 8/11/69 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of Sub -Standards Director for owners of sub -standard properties <br />to appear before the Board on August 11, 1969, to show cause, if any they <br />have, why the following properties should not be demolished: <br />Madelyn VanLake 438-444 E. LaSalle Ave. <br />Paul E. Krueper 136 N. Notre Dame Avenue <br />Douglas D. Caton 1213 W. Indiana Avenue <br />And the Clerk is directed to so notify said owners by certified mail. <br />Demolition bids opened <br />This being the date set, bids for demolition of the following properties were <br />opened. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper. Bids were: <br />213 E. Paris Street (accessory building) <br />Julius O'Neal $115.00 <br />There being no other bids and this bid appearing to be reasonable, upon <br />motion made,.seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition of <br />the accessory building at 213 E. Paris Street was awarded to Julius O'Neal <br />on his bid of $115.00, subject to the owner taking an appeal within the next . <br />seven days. <br />721 S. Jackson <br />A. Midwest Demolition $329.00 <br />Julius O'Neal $449.00 <br />Upon motion made,.seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of 721 S. Jackson Street was awarded to A. Midwest Demolition Company on its <br />low bid of $329.00, subject to the owner taking an appeal within the next <br />seven days. <br />
