Ohio. Street and 1223.S. Rush Street, on which he is in default, <br />Mr. Davis stated he expects".to have the demolition of.116 E.. Ohio Street <br />completed by noon, August 5, and will then commence the demolition of <br />1223 S. Rush Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. Davis <br />was granted an additional week in which to complete the demolition <br />of 1223 S. Rush Street. <br />1729-1731 S. Michigan Street. Mr.-D. E. Kundz, 705 Country Club Lane, <br />South Bend, Indiana, appeared before the Board and complained about the <br />condition and appearance of this property and suggesting that it should <br />be demolished. Mr. Adamson stated the house is presently boarded up <br />and has been under surveillance of the Sub -Standards Department.'Mr. <br />® Taylor explained the,Board is concerned with the public safety and if <br />the property is boarded up and not a hazard, it cannot be demolished. <br />Sub -Standards director was directed to continue surveillance of the <br />property. <br />1814 S. St. Joseph Street. Alice Walters, owner of this property is de= <br />ceased. R. R. Walters,.an heir of the owner, by letter to the Sub- <br />StandardsRDirector gives permission for demolition of the property. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted to <br />advertise for bids for demolition of the property. <br />1307 S. Fellows Street. Waneta Everhart did not appear as requested. <br />Attorney Richard Bodine's office telephoned the Clerk of the Board the <br />owner intends to take this property down herself. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was coat-tnued..for.:two weeksr° <br />and.Mr_: Adamson was directed-•tp=keep the property under surveillance and <br />report to the Board when demolition has been accomplished. <br />613 E. Ohio Street. Neither Emmit nor Wardie Magee appeared as requested. <br />Mr. Adamson stated this property has been posted as sub -standard for more <br />than a year. The property is open and vacant. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, permission was granted to advertise -for bids for <br />demolition of the property. <br />313 E. Wenger. Neither Donald nor Ferne Heilman appeared as requested. <br />Mr. Adamson presented a letter from Donald Heilman agreeing to_have the <br />structure demolished. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />permission was granted to advertise.for bids for demolition of the property. <br />2133 Merry Avenue. -Ronald and Gladys Kopula did not appear as requested. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued <br />one week. <br />133 S. Scott Street. Mary Gluchowski did not appear as requested. Mr. <br />Adamson stated the owner has cleaned up the premises to the satisfaction <br />of the Sub -Standards Department. <br />315 W. Garst. Mr. Adamson stated the South Bend Lathe Company has purchased <br />this property and will demolish it. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the matter was continued two weeks and the Sub -Standards <br />Director was directed to keep it under surveillance. <br />661 LaPorte Avenue. Mr. J. N. Guthrie, 315 N. Scott Street, appeared before <br />the Board and complained of the condition of this property. Mr. Adamson <br />stated the owner has now removed the scaffolding and cleaned up most of the <br />old junk and that his Department is keeping it under surveillance. <br />
