<br />BIDS OPENED - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3289 - DALE AVENUE
<br />For the improvement of Dale Avenue, from Ewing Avenue to Fox Street, by
<br />constructing a Class C pavement with curb repair.
<br />This being the date set for receiving bids for the improvement of said
<br />street, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune
<br />and the Tri County News on July ll,and July 18, 1969, which were read and
<br />found to be proper.
<br />The only bid received was from Bituminous Materials Company, Inc., Room 417,
<br />Marycrest Building, 2015 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, which was
<br />opened. Non collusion affidavit was found to be proper and bid bond in
<br />the amount of 5% of the total bid was found to be proper. The bid was
<br />as follows:
<br />Type III -A pavement $5,362.50
<br />Type IV pavement $4,062.50
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bid was referred to
<br />the bonsul:ting engineer for study and recommendation to the Board.
<br />�= HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL- IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3247 -
<br />S. CARL ISLE STREET
<br />For the improvement of South Carlisle Street, from Prairie Avenue to Indiana
<br />Avenue, by constructing a Class C pavement with curb repair.
<br />This being the date set for hearing on the assessment roll filed July 7,
<br />1969, the Clerk tendered proof of publication in the South Bend Tribune on
<br />July 11 and July 12, 1969, which was read and found to be proper.
<br />No one appeared for or against said assessment roll. Andrew Molnar, 1902
<br />Carlisle Street, South Bend, Indiana, owner of Lot 180, telephoned he
<br />wished to be heard but was unable to attend a daytime meeting.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, hearing on the assess-
<br />ment roll was.continued until 7:30 P.M. on July 23, 1969.
<br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE SPOT LIGHT - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM
<br />Upon motion made, seconded, and unanimously carried., the Board approved the
<br />request of Floyd M. Jessup, Manager of Morris Civic Auditorium, to purchase
<br />one Strong Super -Trouper Follow Spotlight #51001 Type, and set August 4,
<br />1969, as the time for receiving bids. And the Clerk is directed to give
<br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on July 25 and
<br />August 1, 1969.
<br />REQUEST TO SELL UNUSED EQUIPMENT - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM
<br />Action on the request of Floyd M. Jessup, Manager of Morris Civic
<br />Auditorium, for permission to sell unused theatre equipment was postponed
<br />for::one\week for Mr. Jessup to appear before the Board.
<br />REQUEST TO—M LD BLOCK PARTY 7/25/69 - ADAMS STREET
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />request of Mrs. George Filchak, 1736 N. Adams Street, South Bend, Indiana
<br />to block North Adams Street, from Keller to Marquette Boulevard, from 6:00
<br />P.Mra until midnight for a neighborhood block party,.July 25, 1969.
<br />APPLICATION FOR TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE DENIED - PAUL MARVIN CARLES
<br />Application for a taxicab driver's license by Paul Marvin Carles was denied
<br />by the Board, because of police record.
