7/14/69 <br />STREET AND SEWER PLANS FILED - KENSINGTON FARMS <br />Construction plans for streets and sewers in Kensington Farms Subdivision, <br />Section 5, were filed by Engineering Planning Services, Inc., of Mishawaka, <br />Indiana, and approved by the Board. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATIONS APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the Board approved <br />the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer for the installation of a stop <br />sign and post on Hudson Street, at Portage Ayenue. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the - <br />recommendation of the Traffic Engineer for the installation of a "Begin" <br />plate above the "30 Speed Limit" sign on the north side of Jackson Road, <br />200 feet west of York Road. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Engineer for the installation of a "40 Speed <br />Limit" sign by banding to the 3rd UP on Jackson Road west of Ironwood. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Engineer to locate meter posts so as to pro- <br />vide for a loading zone on the Lafayette Street side of the County -City <br />Building, such loading zone to be designated as an emergency type of zone <br />for access to the building. <br />SPEED LIMIT 30 SIGNS <br />Action on the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer for the installation <br />of Speed Limit 30 Signs and posts on Riverside Drive and on Summit between Western <br />and Fdnd was postponed for one week. <br />SPEED LIMIT SIGNS - JACKSON ROAD <br />Traffic Engineer reports the missing speed limit signs on Jackson Road <br />have been ordered replaced. Complaint having been filed by residents on <br />Renfrew Drive with the Board on June 30, 1969. <br />APPLICATIONS - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the South Bend Fire Department <br />were filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further <br />processing; <br />John Williams Bowles <br />Bruce Harold Haenes <br />APPLICATIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />The following applications for appointment to the South Bend Police Depart- <br />ment were filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for <br />further processing: <br />Sue Helene Coleman <br />James Robert Christiansen <br />Thomas Joseph Rudasics <br />Barbara Ann Williams <br />FINAL ORDER <br />AWARD OF CONTRACT <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3258 - HARTMAN DRIVE <br />For the improvement of Hartman Drive, from Rosemary•to dead end. <br />Fifty one percent or more of the resident property owners on Hartman Drive <br />having requested that said street be paved with Type IV pavement instead of <br />Type III -A as designated in the preliminary order adopted on June 30, 1969, <br />the preliminary order is hereby rescinded and said street is ordered paved <br />with Type IV pavement. <br />The Board, having examined all bids and being duly advised, upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, awards contract to Bituminous Materials <br />
