7/7/69 <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE CHAPIN STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of Mrs. Tillie Arch, 823 Sherrill Street, South Bend, Indiana, on_ <br />behalf of St. Anne Society, to close Chapin Street, from Calvert to Bruce <br />Street, Saturday, July 19, 1969, between the hours of 3:00 P.M. and midnight, <br />on condition that certificate of insurance coverage is filed with the Board. <br />CONFIRMATION OF BOARD ACTION'FOR PARADE 7/4/69 SCOTTSDALE COMMUNITY CLUB <br />The request of Ellis Rice, 4921 Blackford Drive West, South Bend, Indiana, <br />on July 1, 1969, for the Scottsdale Community Club to hold a parade on July <br />4, 1969, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., consisting of bicycles, hand pulled <br />floats and tricycles, certificate of insurance for the project having been <br />submitted, was approved by the Board July 1, 1969, and confirmed this date. <br />COMMUNICATION - CONSUMERS' GUILD OF MICHIANA <br />Communication from S. Douglas Smith, Consumers' Guild of Michigaa, 1316 <br />Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, in reference to forming a consumers' <br />guide service was read and ordered filed. <br />AGREEMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL - WASHINGTON AND OLIVE STREETS <br />Agreement for traffic signal installation at Washington and Olive Streets, <br />on South Shore right of way, between South Shore and South Bend Railroad <br />and the City of South Bend, executed as of May 9, 1969, now having been <br />completed, is ordered filed. <br />REQUEST TO HOLD CONCERTS - MAIN STREET IN FRONT OF COURT HOUSE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of Superin- <br />tendent Donald A. Dake, South Bend Community School Corporation, 228 S. St. <br />Joseph Street, South Bend, Indiana, for the School Corporation, in conjunction <br />with the Recreation Department, to hold band concerts on Main Street, in <br />front of the court house, -between the hour of 12:45 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. on <br />July 10 and July 17, 1969, was granted. <br />TRAFFIC SIGN APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of Traffic Engineering for the installation of a "stop" sign <br />and post on the southwest corner of Northside at Logan. <br />RHO,QIHs> xx§RXsxRHHI:XKXIM)rxxxzxomxmxk$it xmxxgxxymXXX <br />STREET LIGHTS APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendations of Traffic Engineering Department for the following: <br />Installation mid -block in the 700 and 800 block of S. Gladstone of <br />a 7000L MV OH WP street light, at a cost of $3.75 per mo. <br />Installation mid -block at the alley - 400 block of S. Grant a <br />7000L MV OH WP street light, at a cost of $3.75 per mo. <br />REQUEST FOR CANCELLATION OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND AND EXCAVATION BOND <br />The request of Ohio Casualty Insurance Company for the cancellation of <br />contractor's bond, expiring 8/7/69, and excavation bond, expiring 8/12/69, <br />as of August 12, 1969, on behalf of Reed Construction Company was referred <br />to the Legal Department for recommendation to the Board. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Contractor's bond on behalf of Anthony Nemetb expiring 5/22/70, was approved. <br />EXCAVATION BOND <br />Excavation bond on behalf of Three Way Construction Company, expiring <br />4/18/70, was approved. <br />
