t <br />7/7/69 <br />1213 Clover Street. At the re$uest of Mr. Adamson, upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, a continuance of one week was granted. <br />1640 Portage Avenue. Mr. Adamson statedMr. Egendorfer, owner of this property, <br />has advised that he may demolish this building himself. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued one week. <br />739 South Bend Avenue. Mr. Adamson stated that only the roof of this structure <br />has been repaired. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />matter was continued one week for Sub -Standards Department to make a further <br />inspection of the premises. <br />2526 Linden Street (accessory building). Mr. Adamson stated the garage has <br />been burned out and nothing has been done to rehabilitate the property. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted to ad- <br />vertise for bids for demolition of the accessory building. <br />1818 W. Indiana Avenue. Mr. Adamson reported that these premises are unoccupied <br />and have been posted as sub -standard. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />owner is ordered to appear before the Board July 21, 1969, to show cause why <br />this property should not be demolished. This property is also the subject of a <br />complaint filed with the Board on June 30, 1969, by Mrs. Susan Safrit, 1822 W. <br />Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, and other residents of the neighborhood <br />concerning the condition of this property. <br />612 E. Ohio Street. Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Copley and Gussie Hill appeared before <br />the Board to complain about the condition of this property. Mrs. Stewart says <br />the property has been boarded up and the owner had a contractor look at it who <br />said it was not worth repairing. Mr. Adamson stated neither the owner nor the <br />land contract buyer, Mrs. Alberta Ku�kendoll of Chicago, want to spend anything <br />on the property, but they have secured the building. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, permission was given to advertise for bids for <br />demolition of the premises, subject to a release being signed by the owner, <br />Mrs. White. If the release is not signed by the owner, Mr. Adamson was directed <br />to have the owner appear before the Board on July 14, 1969. <br />134' E. Ohio Street (accessory Building). _Mr. Adamson reported this accessory <br />building is being rehabilitated. <br />Contracts signed: <br />1520 Western Avenue.' The owner of this property having taken no appeal within <br />seven days and no other demolition permit having been issued, contract awarded <br />June 30, 1969, for demolition of the property by Bryant Excavating Company on his <br />low bid of $487.00, is now formally signed by the Board. <br />717 S. Kale y Street. The owner of this property having taken no appeal within <br />seven days and no other demolition permit having been issued, contract awarded <br />June 30, 1969, for demolition of the premises to John E. Vanek on his low bid <br />of $425.00, is now formally signed by the Board. <br />1201 S. Carroll Street. Mr. Adamson reported nothing has been done to re- <br />habilitate this property and was directed to have the owner appear before the <br />Board on July 21, 1969. <br />134 N. Olive Street. Mr. Adamson stated the owner of this property has done <br />nothing to rehabilitate this property in the 60 days given him on May 5, 1969. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Anderson Jones is ordered to appear <br />before the Board on July 21, 1969, to show cause why this property should not <br />be demolished. <br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before Board 7/21/69: <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the re- <br />quest of the Sub -Standards Director for the following owners of sub -standard <br />properties to appear before the Board on July 21, 1969, to show cause why <br />such properties should not be demolished: <br />Wm.
