5/19/69 <br />I <br />REQUEST TO REPAIR OR REBUILD KERSLAKE COURT - JEAN C. O'MiEARA <br />The request of Joseph O'Meara, on behalf of his wife, Jean C. O'Meara, <br />the owner of property at 1222 S. 25th Street, for the repair or rebuild- <br />ing of Kerslake Court, from S. 25th Street to Pleasant Street, was filed <br />with the Board, and, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />was referred to the City Engineer for investigation and recommendation <br />to the Board. <br />PETITION TO IMPROVE ST. PETER STREET - BURGE W. MUNSON <br />The petition of Burge W. Munson,920 N. St. Peter Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />and five others, to improve St. Peter Street, from Corby Boulevard to <br />Howard Street, under Barrett Law, was filed with the Board, and, upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, was referred to the City Engineer <br />for study and recommendation to the Board. <br />REQUEST TO HOLD PARADE - MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of William M. Reed, 169N. Walton Street, for the Maurice Matthys <br />Little League to hold a parade on May 24, 1969, commencing at 9:30 A.M. <br />and for the use of a Fire Truck on the condition that evidence of proper <br />insurance to hold the City harmless is provided and on condition that a <br />fire truck is available at the time. <br />REQUEST TO HOLD PARADE - JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SOUTH BEND, INC. <br />Action on the request by Mrs. J. Harold Sunderlin, Jr., 1308 E. Washington <br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, for the Junior League of South Bend, Inc. to <br />hold a parade on June 23, 1969, at 2:00 P.M., to publicize a charity <br />golf event, was postponed until May 26, 1969, and the Clerk was directed <br />to request Mrs. Sunderlin to appear before the Board May 26. <br />REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO ERECT WELCOME WAGON SIGNS <br />Mrs. M. Maxine Zinsmeister, Welcome Wagon Hostess, 53261 Oakton Drive, South <br />Bend, Indiana, appeared before the Board to present a request for permission <br />to erect Welcome Wagon Signs on U. S. #31, at the north and south city limits <br />of South Bend. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter <br />was postponed until May 26, 1969, in order to consider the matter with the <br />State Highway Commission. <br />DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT - LASALLE PARK PROJECT, INDIANA R-57 - <br />WASHINGTON STREET DEDICATION APPROVED <br />S. J. Crumpacker, City Attorney, recommends the acceptance of the Washington <br />Street dedication submitted to the Board on May 12, 1969, by the Department <br />of Redevelopment, and the following resolution, upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, was adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of Public Works and <br />Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, hereby accepts and approves <br />the South Bend Redevelopment Commission Resolution Granting Street <br />Dedication for the north 30 feet of Washington Street between the <br />alley west of Dundee and the alley east of Bendix Drive, said <br />Redevelopment Commission Resolution reading as follows: <br />"DEDICATION OF STREETS <br />"The City of South Bend, Department of Redevelop- <br />ment, hereby grants and dedicates streets upon real es- <br />tate located in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph <br />County, Indiana, hereinafter described, for the use <br />of the public and for street purposes, which streets <br />are more particularly described in Exhibits A, B, C, D <br />and E attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br />
