5/5/69 <br />134 N. Olive Street. Ray Scarbeck, contractor, appeared before the Board <br />and stated he was representing the owner Anderson Jones. Mr. Scarbeck <br />stated most of the work has been done and since the owner expects to move <br />into the property by June it must be completed by that time. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the owner was granted 60 days within which to <br />complete the rehabilitation of the property. <br />1509 W. Sample Street. The owner of this property did not appear as requested. <br />Mr. Adamson reported the building has now been demolished by the owner. <br />7282 S. Fellows Street. Mr. Adamson reported this building is open and in <br />bad condition. Ella Mae Seward, owner of the property, did not appear as <br />requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission <br />was granted to advertise for bids for demolition of the property. <br />Bids opened. This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of <br />the following properties. Bid bonds accompanying each bid were found to <br />be proper. Bids were: <br />2117-2119 W. Washington: <br />A & J Demolition Company $633.00 <br />Harvey R. Bryant 635.00 <br />A. Midwest Demolition Co. 365.00 <br />_Julius O'Neal 674.00 <br />John E. Vanek 330.00 <br />Richard Doyle, attorney, was present. Mr. Doyle -inquired the authority <br />for demolition of properties and.was cited the State statute. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for <br />demolition of the structure was awarded to John E. Vanek, his being <br />the lowest and best bid received. <br />526 Arthur Street: <br />A & J Demolition $450.00 <br />Harvey R. Bryant 500.00 <br />A. Midwest Demolition 331.00 <br />John E. Vanek 374.00 <br />Julius O'Neal 340.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for <br />demolition of the structure was awarded to A. Midwest Demolition <br />Company, that being the lowest and best bid received. <br />3.02 E. Pennsylvania Street: <br />A & J Demolition Company $1090.00 <br />Harvey R. Bryant 1135.00 <br />A. Midwest Demolition 970.00 <br />John E. Vanek 669.00 <br />Julius O'Neal 829.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for de- <br />molition of the building was awarded to John E. Vanek, that being the <br />lowest and best bid received. <br />724 SQuth'Bend Avedue. Mr. Adamson stated this house is open and is a fire <br />hazard. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was <br />granted to advertise for bids for demolition of the property. <br />201 Wakewa Street. Mr. Adamson reported the building is still open and <br />that the frames have now been taken out of the windows. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was further postponed one week <br />to allow the owner time to.secure the building. <br />1825 Benton Court. Mr. Adamson reported this building has now been boarded <br />up but that it is still sub -standard. <br />
