Mr. Adamson stated that Mr. Walker is retired, <br />and that he cannot afford to repair the property. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, further action was postponed for one week to permit <br />the Board members to inspect the premises. <br />536 Crescent Street. Mrs. D. J. Simeri, the owner of this property, whose <br />husband is deceased, lives in California, and did not appear before the <br />Board. Mr. Adamson stated there had been a fire at -these premises four <br />years' ago and the property has never been repaired. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, further action was postponed for four weeks to <br />afford the owner an opportunity to have the building demolished. <br />413 E. Ohio Street. Andrew Shewnan, owner of this property, appeared be- <br />fore the Board. He stated that twiceland contract buyers had failed to <br />fulfill their contract; that he had,done some work on the building and <br />may be able to get it repaired within 30 days, and if not, then he will <br />be willing for the City to demolish it. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried an additional 30 days was granted in-avhich to accomplish the repairs. <br />DEMOLITION BIDS OPENED <br />Mr. Adamson submitted bids for demolition of the following properties, <br />which were opened. Upon examination, non -collusion affidavit with each <br />bid was found to be proper. The bids were: <br />909 Oak Street. <br />A. & J. Midwest Demolition and Wrecking Co. 460.00 <br />Upon notion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract was awarded <br />to Vanek Excavating Company for $365.00, that being the lowest and best <br />bid received. <br />715 George Avenue. <br />A. & J. Demolition Company $550.00 <br />Harvey R. Bryant 635.00 <br />Julius O'Neal 658.00 <br />A. Midwest Demolition & Wrecking Co. 630.00 <br />John E. Vanek 615.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract was awarded <br />to A. & J. Demolition Company for $550.00, that being the lowest bid <br />received. <br />506 E. Midwest Wrecking Company 150.00 <br />Upon motion made, secatded and unanimously carried, contract was awarded <br />to Julius O'Neal for $59.00, :that being the lowest and best bid received. <br />2117-2119 W. Washington Street. The Clerk tendered letter signed by Charles <br />Stafford, contractor, and,Hubert Mitchell, owner of this property, stating <br />the property would be brought up to standard within 90 days from March 24, <br />1969 and clean up the debris and junk in the yard. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, further action was postponed for one week <br />and if the debris is not cleaned up by April 21, action for demolition be <br />taken. <br />
