(b) Radio Maintenance Division personnel shall be

<br />the Fire Department.
<br />(c) Radio Maintenance Personnel shall, upon request
<br />of the Fire Alarm operator, report to the Fire
<br />Alarm Station in the event of multiple alarm fires,
<br />emergency, etc."
<br />REQUEST FOR TRANSFER OF FUNDS POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />The request of Chief of Police Thomas H. McNaughton for the transfer of
<br />funds from Account P-11 (personal) to Account P-722 (motor equipment) in
<br />the amount of $2820.00, occasioned by the need to replace Mechanical
<br />Vehicle #52 which was demolished in an accident, and for the purpose of
<br />buying a 1969 Cushman #880715 Police vehicle, upon motion made, seconded
<br />and unanimously carried, was referred to the City Controller for review and
<br />recommendation to the Board.
<br />APPOINTMENTS - POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />appointment of the following officers to the -South Bend Police Department,
<br />upon the recommendation of Chief of Police Thomas H. McNaughton, effective
<br />April 16, 1969:

<br />REQUEST TO ATTEND INDIANA INSPECTORS ASSOCIATION SCHOOL - BUILDING DEPARTMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />request of Building Commissioner Forrest West for the following inspectors
<br />of the Building Department to attend the Indiana Inspectors Association
<br />School April 21 to 23, 1969, at Indianapolis, Indiana: Harry Leslie,
<br />John Schermerhorn, J. W. Adamson, Anthony Raess, Joseph Hizney, James Walker,
<br />Albert Fout and Forrest R. West.
<br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION
<br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the
<br />following matters were taken up:
<br />518 N. Eddy Street. Clifton Gallup, owner of this property, did not appear
<br />as requested. Mr. Adamson stated this owner is retired, lives in Florida,
<br />and is willing for the property to be demolished. Upon motion made, seconded
<br />and carried, permission was granted to Mr. Adamson to advertise for bids for
<br />the demolition of the property.
<br />1022 S. Franklin Street. Paul E. Baumgartner, owner of this property, did not
<br />appear. Mrs. Lewis, land contract buyer, was present. Mrs. Lewis wishes
<br />to rehabilitate the house and has been obtaining estimates. Upon motion made,
<br />seconded and unanimously carried, an additional 30 days was granted in which
<br />to repair the building.
<br />715 Marietta Street. Mrs. Lottie King, reportdd to`be the owner -of this
<br />building, appeared before the Board as requested. She says she does not own
<br />715 Marietta ; that she sold it to Gene Oakley and he has a deed for it; that
<br />she does own 712 Marietta Street; that she had some furniture stored at 715
<br />Marietta and that is the only interest she has in it. Further action was
<br />postponed for one week in order to abstract the title to the property to date.
<br />137 E. Keasey. Jack Chambers, owner of this property; did not appear as re-
<br />quested. Mr. Adamson stated the owner is willing for the property to be de-
<br />molished. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, Mr. Adamson
<br />was granted permission to advertise for bids for demolition of the house at
<br />the rear of 133 E. Keasey having a posted number of "137" E. Keasey Street.
<br />229-231 E. Elder. Mrs. Cora Williams, the owner of this property, did not
<br />appear as requested. MrAdamson stated that he had talked to Mrs. Williams
<br />and that she is willing for the property to be demolished, Upon motion made,
<br />seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted to advertise for
<br />bids for the demolition of the property.
