4/14/69 <br />Section 2. PERSONNEL: Fire Alarm Station personnel <br />shall consist of one lieutenant and eight privates being assigned <br />to three shifts of three men. <br />Section 3. SHIFTS: The shifts shall work the follow- <br />ing schedule: <br />Shift 1 - 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. <br />Shift 2 - 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. <br />Shift 3 - 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. <br />Each shift shall.be arranged in a nine day cycle so a man will, <br />work six consecutive days and be relieved of duty three con- <br />secutive days. <br />Section 4. LIEUTENANT IN CHARGE: <br />(a) The Lieutenant in charge of the Fire Alarm Station <br />shall be directly in charge of all Fire Alarm Station <br />personnel. He shall see that all shifts are properly <br />manned and make any and all adjustments necessary for <br />vacation, illness, etc. <br />(b) The Lieutenant in charge shall be responsible for keep- <br />ing an adequate supply of all printed forms, teletype <br />paper and supplies available for,ail shifts. <br />(c) The Lieutenant in charge shall make a periodic check <br />of all equipment using ribbons to print time and.dates <br />and upon finding any that do not give a clear, sharp <br />image shall request the Battalion Chief of Fire Alarm <br />Signal Maintenance to have them changed. <br />Section 5. TRANSMISSION OF ALARMS: Fire Alarm Station <br />personnel are given authority to receive and transmit alarms, <br />signals and messages as provided by official orders and memos <br />issued by the Fire Chief, Executive Officer or the Chief In- <br />structor. <br />Section 6. UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL: It shall be the <br />responsibility of all Alarm Station personnel to see that only <br />authorized Fire Department personnel use the equipment of the <br />Fire Alarm Station. <br />Section 7. ALARM OPERATORS: <br />(a) Alarm operators shall not leave the Alarm Station dur- <br />ing their time of duty except by permission of the <br />Fire. Chief, Executive Officer, Chief Instructor, <br />Lieutenant in charge of ,Alarm personnel. <br />(b) Alarm operators shall not leave the Alarm Station <br />until properly relieved. <br />(c) Alarm operators before leaving after their tour of <br />duty shall pass all pertinent information on to the <br />Alarm operators coming on duty. <br />(d) All Alarms of fire other than an automobile fire in <br />the loop area shall be dispatched in accord with the <br />nearest loop box. <br />(e) Shift #1 shall be responsible for de -magnetizing all <br />recording tapes, and for repairing recording tapes. <br />(f) The time and date stamp is provided for the protection <br />of the Alarm operators and it is to be used for all <br />calls.
