3/3/69 <br />COUNCILWOMAN JANET ALLEN appeared before the Board and reported cars are <br />being parked on Madison Street between Michigan and Main in violation. <br />The City Engineer will look into the matter. <br />Mrs. Allen also brought to the attention of the Board a display in the <br />window of the South Shore Station of material which would appear to come <br />under the obscene literature statute and asked that the Police Department <br />be notified. <br />SEWER SERVICE TO PROPERTY SITUATED ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF <br />MICHIGAN AND IRELAND ROADS <br />Upon motion made, seas nded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />an agreement for sewer service to property situated on the southwest corner <br />of Michigan and Ireland Roads, described as: <br />A part of the southwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 37 <br />North, Range 2 East, in St. Joseph County, Indiana, more <br />particularly described as follows: <br />Beginning at a point 330 feet East of the West Quarter <br />corner of said Section No. 25, on the East-West centerline <br />of said Section No. 25; thence continuing East along said <br />centerline a distance of 214.52 feet; thence with a deflection <br />angle to the right of 95 degrees 55 :feet :18 ihches.,a;,&istance, <br />of 260 feet; thence with a deflection angle to the left of <br />95 degrees 55 feet 18 inches a distance of 130.00 feet to <br />the west right of way line of U. S. Route No. 31; thence <br />southerly along the said west line of U. S. Route No. 31 a <br />distance of 30.16 feet; thence with a deflection angle to <br />the right of 84 degrees 4 feet 42 inches, a distance of <br />330.69 feet; thence with a deflection angle to the right of <br />93 degrees 11 feet 39 inches a distance of 288.89 feet to <br />the point of beginning. <br />and owned by Marcella Hartman and Elnora Hartman Stickley; and which said <br />property at the present time is leased to the American National Bank and <br />Trust Company with the right of said Bank to sublease any portion of said <br />real estate. The Royal Knight Inn of South Bend, Inc., contemplating sub- <br />leasing a certain portion of the real estate, agrees to be responsible for <br />all costs in extending the sewer service. <br />MUNICIPAL PARKING GARAGES - AGREEMENT WITH NORTH CENTRAL APPRAISAL COMPANY <br />INC. TO ACQUIRE PROPERTIES FOR SITES I AND II <br />The following agreement was executed between the City of South Bend, by the <br />Board of Public Works and Safety, and the North Central Appraisal Company, <br />Inc., for the acquisition of properties for Garage Site No.l(southeast <br />corner of Colfax and Main Streets) and Garage Site No. II (northwest corner <br />of Jefferson and St. Joseph Streets): <br />"AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT is entered into this 3rd day of March, 1969, <br />by and between the City of South Bend, Indiana, hereinafter called <br />"City" and North Central Appraisal Company, Inc., hereinafter called <br />"North Central." <br />W ITN7E'SSETH: <br />The City does hereby hire and employ North Central to <br />act as our agent in entering into purchase agreements and acquiring <br />real estate for and on behalf of the City under the terms and con- <br />ditions set out herein: <br />(a) This Agreement shall apply to the acquisition of <br />properties by the City for construction of two parking structures, <br />and described as follows: <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Site No. I.
