3/3/69 COUNCILWOMAN JANET ALLEN appeared before the Board and reported cars are being parked on Madison Street between Michigan and Main in violation. The City Engineer will look into the matter. Mrs. Allen also brought to the attention of the Board a display in the window of the South Shore Station of material which would appear to come under the obscene literature statute and asked that the Police Department be notified. SEWER SERVICE TO PROPERTY SITUATED ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF MICHIGAN AND IRELAND ROADS Upon motion made, seas nded and unanimously carried, the Board approved an agreement for sewer service to property situated on the southwest corner of Michigan and Ireland Roads, described as: A part of the southwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, in St. Joseph County, Indiana, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point 330 feet East of the West Quarter corner of said Section No. 25, on the East-West centerline of said Section No. 25; thence continuing East along said centerline a distance of 214.52 feet; thence with a deflection angle to the right of 95 degrees 55 :feet :18 ihches.,a;,&istance, of 260 feet; thence with a deflection angle to the left of 95 degrees 55 feet 18 inches a distance of 130.00 feet to the west right of way line of U. S. Route No. 31; thence southerly along the said west line of U. S. Route No. 31 a distance of 30.16 feet; thence with a deflection angle to the right of 84 degrees 4 feet 42 inches, a distance of 330.69 feet; thence with a deflection angle to the right of 93 degrees 11 feet 39 inches a distance of 288.89 feet to the point of beginning. and owned by Marcella Hartman and Elnora Hartman Stickley; and which said property at the present time is leased to the American National Bank and Trust Company with the right of said Bank to sublease any portion of said real estate. The Royal Knight Inn of South Bend, Inc., contemplating sub- leasing a certain portion of the real estate, agrees to be responsible for all costs in extending the sewer service. MUNICIPAL PARKING GARAGES - AGREEMENT WITH NORTH CENTRAL APPRAISAL COMPANY INC. TO ACQUIRE PROPERTIES FOR SITES I AND II The following agreement was executed between the City of South Bend, by the Board of Public Works and Safety, and the North Central Appraisal Company, Inc., for the acquisition of properties for Garage Site No.l(southeast corner of Colfax and Main Streets) and Garage Site No. II (northwest corner of Jefferson and St. Joseph Streets): "AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT is entered into this 3rd day of March, 1969, by and between the City of South Bend, Indiana, hereinafter called "City" and North Central Appraisal Company, Inc., hereinafter called "North Central." W ITN7E'SSETH: The City does hereby hire and employ North Central to act as our agent in entering into purchase agreements and acquiring real estate for and on behalf of the City under the terms and con- ditions set out herein: (a) This Agreement shall apply to the acquisition of properties by the City for construction of two parking structures, and described as follows: 1 1 1 Site No. I. The north 61.5 feet of Lot 22, all of Lots 23 and 24 of the Original Plat to the town, now city, of South Bend, Indiana.
