Martz to be excused from duty April 12 through <br />April 27, 1969, for military service with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve at <br />Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. <br />REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF SICK LEAVE - DENNIS BAILEY t'E. J. NAWROCKI - <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board deferred action on the re- <br />quest of Police officers Dennis Bailey and E. J. Nawrocki for additional <br />sick leave to a later date to enable the Board to review the matter. <br />REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SLURRY SEAL MACHINE - <br />STREET DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />the request of"the Street Department to advertise for bids for the following: <br />One 0,000 lb. Arthur Street. Owned by Eardahl Glass. Home open and exposed to <br />general public and being used for a hangout by neighborhood teenagers. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and unanimously ..carried, permission was given to ad- <br />vertise for demolition. <br />1110 N. Olive Street. This being the date set, bids for demolition of this <br />property were called for. The only bid received was from Harvey R. Bryant, <br />South Bend, Indiana, which was opened. Non`col'lusion affidavit was found <br />to be proper. Bid was in the amount of $535.00 including water shut-off. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the structure was awarded to Bryant, this bid appearing to be reasonable <br />and the only bid received. <br />804 N. St. Peter Street. Letter from Charles Howell, owner of this property, <br />giving as the reason for having done nothing.to this property "that we have <br />contacted our bank to obtain a loan -and until this loan has gone through we <br />have been advised not to touch this property," was ordered filed. <br />
