1/27/69 <br />804 N. St. Peter St. Charles Howell, land contract buyer of this property <br />from Mrs. Sylvia Warren, appeared before the Board. Mr. Howell stated <br />that he had received a deed to the property from Mrs. Warren and that the <br />building would be demolished by him. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, Mr. Howell was afforded 30 days in which to accomplish <br />such demolition himself in lieu of the property being demolished by the City. <br />MRS, JANET ALLEN, COUNCILWOMAN AT LARGE appeared before the Board and re- <br />quested that "play" signs be installed on Campeau Street and. Corby between <br />Eddy and Twyckenham. 'Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter. <br />was referred to the Traffic Engineer for study and recommendation. <br />Mrs. Allen also inquired if there could not be some solution to the parking <br />situation on snow routes, citing the particular area of Navarre, Lafayette <br />and Main Streets. The matter was referred to the Engineering Department and <br />they will again review the problem. _ <br />REQUEST TO RE -ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES <br />.FOR MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUILDING <br />9 <br />C: Vernon S. Sutton, Purchasing Agent, appeared before the Board in connection <br />with his request on January 20, 1969, to re -advertise for bids for janitorial <br />services for the Municipal Services Building for the period March 1, 1969 <br />through December 31, 1969. <br />Upon motion made, secnded and carried, the Board approved the request and'set <br />February 17, 1969, as the date for receiving bids, and directed the Clerk to <br />advertise for such bids in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News on <br />January 31, 1969 and February 7, 1969. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3271 - JUSTIN BARRON <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll'in Vacation <br />Resolution No. 3271, being for the vacation of: <br />A portion of an alley described as: beginning at a point <br />on the southerly line of East Sample Street 392 feet east <br />of the east line of Michigan Street; thence running east <br />along said southerly line 12 feet; thence southerly 130.2 <br />feet; thence westerly 12 feet; thence northerly 130.2 feet <br />to the place of beginning. <br />Proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri. County News on <br />January 3, January 10 and January 17, 1969, as certified by Robert C. DeLong <br />for the South Bend Tribune and by Alfred W. Snyder II, for the Tri County <br />News, were read and found to be sufficient. No remonstrators having appeared <br />and no written remonstrances having been received, upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the assessment roll is hereby in all things <br />ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed and the property <br />vacated. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board recessed at 12:20 P.M <br />reconvene later in the afternoon. _ - 1� <br />Lloyd T for / <br />t � <br />J.
