<br />REQUEST TO USE FIRE STATION NO. 4 - MODEL CITIES ELECTION
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of John H. Tidwell,
<br />Assistant Director, Model Cities Program, 1002 W. Thomas Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, to use Fire Station No. 4 on June 14, 1971 from 12:00
<br />noon until 8:00 P.M. as a polling place for the Model Cities Election
<br />was approved, subject to the approval of Fire Chief Joseph L. Zurat.
<br />REQUEST TO HOLD PARADE 5/31/71 - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY SOCIETY
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved
<br />the request of Carl V. Alasko for the St. Joseph County Memorial Day
<br />Society, 809 W. 4th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, to hold a parade on
<br />May 31, 1971, from 1:15 P. M. until approximately 3:30 P.M. on
<br />condition that a certificate of insurance is provided to hold the City
<br />harmless.` The parade route will be from Madison south on Michigan to
<br />Jefferson; west on Jefferson to Lafayette; north on Lafayette to Colfax;
<br />west on Colfax to LaPorte Avenue, to the City Cemetery; through the
<br />cemetery to Elm Street where the parade will disband.
<br />REQUEST TO HOLD PARADE 6/6/71 - MODEL CITIES PROGRAM
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved
<br />the request of John H. Tidwell, Assistant Director, for the Model Cities
<br />Program, 1002 W. Thomas Street, South Bend, Indiana, to hold a parade on
<br />June 6, 1971, commencing at 2:30 P.M. and for the use of a fire truck and
<br />motorcycle escort, subject to evidence of proper insurance to hold the City
<br />harmless. Parade to start at Kaley School.* and ending at Monroe and Taylor
<br />Streets.
<br />REQUEST TO ERECT WALKWAY.AROUND SHERLAND'.BUILDING - H.,-G. CHRISTMAN COMPANY
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of H. G. Christman
<br />Construction Company, 850 S. Fellows Street, South Bend, Indiana, to erect
<br />a walkway around the Sherland Building, during remodeling of the building,
<br />commencing the week of May 17, 1971, was approved by the Board subject to the
<br />approval of the Traffic -Engineering Department.
<br />REQUEST TO BLOCK CHAPIN STREET 5/31/71
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />Louis Pinter for the American Legion Post No. 272, 1712 S. Taylor Street,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, to block Chapin Street, from Calvert north to Bruce
<br />Street, on May731, 1971, between 9:00 A.M. and 9:45 A.M. for a Memorial
<br />Day Mass at the Our Lady of Hungary Church.

<br />326 W. Navarre Street and Mrs. R. S. VonKarowsky,
<br />Bend, Indiana, appeared before the Board and
<br />street light just installed in that neighbor -
<br />the historic setting of the neighborhood. The
<br />check into the matter.
<br />Mrs. F. S. Wlodarski, 1869 Riverside Drive, South Bend, Indiana, appeared
<br />before the Board and complained of litter in the Parks. -
<br />COMPLAINT - NOISE
<br />Gene Minnick, 1922 S. Kemble Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before
<br />the Board and complained of the excessive noise late at night at the Indiana
<br />National Guard, 1901 S. Kemble Avenue and the careless driving and parking
<br />in the neighborhood. The Board will check into the matter.
