`d 1"I <br />4/26/71 <br />11WHEREAS, the balance and remainder of the cost of <br />said project must be provided by the City of South Bend; and <br />`WHEREAS, the City is authorized by Chapter 284 of <br />the Acts of the Indiana General Assembly for the year 1967 as <br />'amended, to issue revenue bonds to obtain funds to pay the cost <br />of a sewage treatment works, which bonds under said Act are pay- <br />able solely from the revenues of said sewage treatment works, <br />and the Board of Public Works and Safety now finds that the cost <br />of said improvements to existing 48 MGD capacity (48 MGD primary <br />and 24 MGD secondary) treatment plant to 60 MGD capacity (60 MGD <br />primary and 48 MGD secondary) including addition of degritting <br />facilities, sludge thickening, one aeration tank, two final tanks, <br />chlorination and phosphate removal facilities, should be financed <br />by the issuance of revenue bonds issued pursuant to said Act; <br />and <br />"WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety has de- <br />termined and desires to finance the balance of the cost of such <br />project by the issuance of revenue bonds issued pursuant to the <br />provisions and authority contained in Chapter 284 of the Acts <br />of the Indiana General Assembly for the year 1967, as amended; <br />and <br />"WHEREAS, the Board has deemed it expedient to take <br />construction bids prior to the adoption of a bond ordinance by the <br />Council in order to determine with greater certainty the amount <br />of bonds required to be issued to finance said project, and the <br />rates and charges for sewage treatment service; <br />"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works and Safety of the City of South Bend that the plans, <br />specifications and estimates heretofore prepared and filed by <br />Clyde Williams and Associates be and the same are hereby approved. <br />"FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend be requested to authorize the Board of Public Works <br />and Safety of said City to make improvements to existing MGD <br />capacity-(48 MGD primary and 24 MGD secondary) sewage treatment <br />plant to 60 MGD capacity (60 MGD primary and 48 MGD secondary) <br />including addition of degritting facilities, sludge thickening, <br />one aeration tank, two final tanks, chlorination and phosphate <br />removal facilities in accordance with said plans and specifi- <br />cations, and ratify, approve and confirm all preliminary doings, <br />actions and.proceedings taken and performed by the Board of Public <br />Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, pursuant to the <br />accomplishments of that purpose; <br />"FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be <br />filed with the City Clerk for presentation to the Common Council <br />for such purpose. <br />"Dated this 26th day of April, 1971. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />(Seal) Lloyd S.
