<br />234 Pagin ,Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of
<br />234 Pagin Street was continued one week, and the Clerk was directed to
<br />notify, by certified mail, the owner, Paul Shanahan, Michiana Investment Cor-
<br />poration, 417 Odd Fellows Building, South Bend, INdiana, to appear before the
<br />Board at 9:30 A.M. on April 26, 1971, to show cause why said property at
<br />234 Pagin Street is permitted to remain in a substandard condition,
<br />1613 S. Leer Street. Mr. Liszewski reported the property at 1613 S. Leer
<br />Street has been broken into, is open, is in a worsening condition and is a
<br />detriment to the neighborhood. Upon motion made, seconded and carried the
<br />matter is referred to the Building Department to determine if there has been
<br />a violation of the zoning ordinance,
<br />1608/1612 Prairie. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of
<br />1 0 -1 12 Prairie Avenue was continued one week for the Sub -Standards
<br />Director to try to contact the owner of the property, Sam Bernstein, in
<br />person.
<br />REQUEST TO ATTEND WORKSHOP - J. J. McNEILE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted
<br />for J. J. McNeile, Manager of the Municipal Parking Garages, to attend a
<br />workshop and seminar of the International Municipal Parking Garage Owners in
<br />Boston, Massachusetts, June 27 to 30, 1971.

<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, profiles, drawings, plans and specifi-
<br />cations adopted October 5, 1970, were approved and ordered filed.
<br />May 10, 1971, at 9:30 A.M., in Room 1308 County City Building, was set as the
<br />time and place for receiving bids for said improvement. And the Clerk of the
<br />Board was directed to give notice by publication in the South Bend Tribune
<br />and the Tr i County News on April 30� , 1971 and ;-May" _ 7„ 1971.
<br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3337 - DEPARTMENT OF
<br />REDEVELOPMENT (CONTINUED FROM APRIL 12, 1971) (POST OFFICE SITE)
<br />Hearing was resumed on the assessment roll in Vacation Resolution No. 3337
<br />having been continued from April 12, 1971. No remonstrators appeared and no
<br />written remonstrances were received. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously
<br />carried, the assessment roll was approved as presented, and the Vacation
<br />Resolution was in all things ratified and confirmed and the proceedings closed
<br />and the property declared vacated.

<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following Resolution
<br />was adopted:
<br />"VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3338, 1971
<br />"RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following:
<br />The east -west alley running between Lots 56 and S7 in
<br />Berner's Grove First Addition. Said alley being the
<br />first east -west alley north of Mishawaka Avenue and
<br />running from the west line of 24th Street to the east
<br />line of the first north -south alley west of 24th
<br />street.
<br />"Reserving the rights and easements of all utilities and the
<br />municipal city of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any
<br />facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: electric,
<br />telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and
<br />ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless such rights are re-
<br />leased by the individual utilities.
